The former New Kid is back on the block, and he's better than ever! Here, we get sizzlin' Jordan Knight to dish all about his hot solo debut album, his old NKOTB pals -- and the one thing it takes to be his girl.
- What are the tunes on your new album, Jordan Knight, like?
There are heartbreak songs, romantic songs, and upbeat, crazy ones. They all bring out very different feelings. It's a very emotional record.
- You do some major movin' in the "Give It to You" video. Was this tough?
Dancing has always come easily to me, but this routine required a lot of stamina. I wasn't used to dancing that hard without stopping. After the first take, I was like, "Cut! Cut! I'm dying over here!"
- What's the best thing about being a superstar singer?
Performing -- that's where the biggest thrill comes from. All the work pays off when you're on stage and the crowd's going wild.
- Do you miss being in New Kids?
I don't miss it, but I have fond memories of the group. We don't hang out much, though. We're too busy doing our own thing.
- Would you ever consider doing a concert with Joey McIntyre again? The girls would just go crazy.
Really? You think they'd go crazy? Then maybe I'll talk to him about it!
- What's the one quality your dream girl must have?
She has to be independent. And not always take things too personally.
Sometimes when a girl's feeling distant from her boyfriend it's hard for her to realize it's not that he's dissing her -- he's just working something out by himself.- That takes maturity. Have you grown up since your days as a New Kid?
Because this is my so-called second time around with fame, I don't take everything for granted anymore. I'm just very happy to be doing what I’m doing.
