Last Thing On My Mind was the sequel to 5,6,7,8. This release brought Steps more success as it peaked at number six and hovered around the top 10 for a number of weeks. This song also followed on with a dancing theme with the famous "shampooing" move.

One For Sorrow was the biggest single yet. It entered the charts at number two. The Manics beat them to the number one spot. "I don't think we could have handled a number one... we're not ready for that yet" quoted Faye. One For Sorrow is included on the You Drive Me Crazy soundtrack to the same titled film.

Heartbeat/Tragedy even bigger that One For Sorrow. Not only did it stay in the top ten for 15 weeks, it went to number one as the first number one of 1999 after 8 weeks in the chart. AND it was the biggest seller of January AND one of the biggest sellers in February. They managed to shift over 1.2 million of this and it went 2x Platinum. This was the 19th best selling single in 1999. It was so big that the next single, Better Best Forgotten, had to have its release date postponed for five weeks.
