Black and White

(R. Matsuo)

In the golden days of black and white,
imagination sparked my every sight;
reds and greens appeared as plain as day,
and took me far away.

And the music on the radio
taught me all that I needed to know;
Lessons learned that I hold so close,
some of what I love the most.

        Chorus
        If I had twice as much, if it was there to touch,
        would the wonder and the magic go away?
        Would it be as real as I've come to feel?
        Would I be who I am today?

All the heroes that I've admired
made me feel so awe-inspired;
Put my purpose out on a limb
‘cause I'm gonna be like him.

And the loves that I've had and lost,
I wouldn't change their ways at any cost;
taught me what was wrong and what was real,
and how true love could feel.

        Chorus
