Say Goodbye

(R. Matsuo)

I bought a one way ticket with all the money I had.
It'll take all my courage to stop myself from feeling this bad.
‘Cause living here's been killing me.
I'm past the days of feeling depressed.
This disease of comfort is crippling me and slowly putting my mind to rest.

I read it once in a story, or what someone once said to me,
"A wise man learns from a fool's mistakes," but even fools know enough to be free.

        Chorus
So I say goodnight as I sleep and I dream.
As I leave, I will cry.
        Say goodbye.
One last look, one last time, turn away.
As I leave I will cry.
        Say goodbye.

As a child I promised something no one else knew about:
I will own a passionate heart, and a thoughtful mind full of doubt,
To question all of the reasons,
to know that God is more than one skin,
to live in love until I die, and to live and love again and again.

I'm not trying to lose you, or trying to hide from somebody else.
But I can't show passion for who I love if I don't even love myself.

        Chorus

I got a one way ticket to finally put my mind to rest.
I really wanted it to be a little better, though I knew it wouldn't be the best.
To have a life to talk about,
to come home and share my day;
A room with a view, a table for two, to live enough to turn a little gray.

I know that maybe tomorrow some new life might come along.
But waiting and hoping is taking my soul after waiting here for so long.

        Chorus
