After a nearly four-year absence (and a lengthy heated
court battle with her label, LaFace/Arista),
Toni Braxton at last returns this week with her third
album, "The Heat." Braxton's last set, "Secrets,"
reached No. 2 on The Billboard 200, spending 92 weeks
on the chart and spawning the hits "You're Makin' Me
High"/"Let It Flow" and "Un-break My Heart."
"The Heat" is starting off with a bang. The first
single, "He Wasn't Man Enough," is a fiery showcase
for Braxton's deep, sultry vocals. The song, written
and produced by R&B Wunderkind Rodney Jerkins, is No.
1 this week on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles &
Tracks chart and No. 3 on the Hot 100.
Among others to look out for on the 12-track "The
Heat" are "Gimme Some," featuring a guest rap by TLC's
Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and the Diane Warren-
penned "Spanish Guitar."
