Parents: Vanessa was born to parents who were both professional singers/dancers, so it is no wonder why Vanessa is where she is today.

In The Beginning: When Vanessa was four she would go to Tap, Jazz and Classical ballet classes that were run by Vanessa's uncle. At the age of 12 Vanessa started to do performances in shopping centres and council concerts. Then Vanessa began singing in a Russian Restaurant where she was discovered by Jack Strom.

Achievement: Vanessa has had 4 chart topping singles (Shine,Absolutely Everybody, Have A Look, The Power, Turn To Me and Spin (everybody's doin it) and she has released two albums , Turn To Me & The Power, with a third on the way in March 2003. The Power went to number 1 in it's first week of release, showing just how extraordinary Vanessa's talenst are. She also won the Young Entertainer Of The Year Award and Young Victorian of the Year Award last year. Also she also got the opportunity to perform at the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2000 Olympic Games and the Paralympic's Opening Ceremony. Overseas in 2001 Vanessa was nominated for "Best International Newcomer" at the Viva Awards in Germary and won, beating other acts such as the Sugar Babes and Atomic Kitten. 

Vanessa Dream: Vanessa hopes that she will be able to get a farm open and have disabled children come and see the animals there. 

Interesting Facts:
> Vanessa wasn't really setting out to be a singer and was heading towards a job in the army. The day she was heading to the army barracks, to sign up, her car broke down and she didn't make it there. The next day she was singing at a Russian Restuarant, when Jack Strom walked in.
> Vanessa is a vegetarian ( well semi, I know she eats fish).
> One iof favourite song is "Cows With Guns" by Dana Lyons.
> She loves to go four wheel driving, dirt bike riding,camping, and just hanging out at her farm in her spare time.
> Vanessa is a strong surporter of the charities that are fighting to stop animal cruelty.
> She can play Old Mcdonald on the guitar......Vanessa style.\

> As Vanessa gets older she's becomeing less tom-boyish, her Mum is very happy about this!!!
> When asked if she would run threw the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics naked for a $1 million, Vanessa's response was "NO I don't think I could. My greatest fear is my botty, it scares me, mate. I wouldn't like to scare anyone else with it"

>When asked about her first kissed: " Um...f*ck, I don't know. I rekon 13. I was best friends with this guy for ages. It was ok - it was my first, so how would I know anyway? You can't really compare. It's not like you're kissing your mum and dad like that!"

> When V was little she wanted to be a dancer, but the first time she sung infront of everybody, at karaoke with her mum, she won a bottle of champagne and decided she liked singing.
