He's blond ,cheeky and he can tell a tale or two ! Oh, and he's Nick Carter's younger brother. We caught up with AARON at home in Florida for fun and frolics!
Is there any jealousy in the Carter household?
No, Because everyone's doing their own thing. My twin sister Angel is going to try modeling and my older sister Bobbie isn't really into music. Leslie my other older sister wants to sing and she might be doing backing vocals on my next single-but only if she lets me play with her guitar. The thing is I broke it the last time I used it !
You share a room with Nick , what's that like?
It's cool. I wouldn't want a room on my own, I think I'd be bored.
What if Nick moves out?
Oh, he's not going to, he really told me! He wouldn't want such a big room to himself anyway. He's quite untidy though and sometimes it makes me mad-but not really mad.
Who snores the loudest?
Nick doesn't snore but I do, all the time . But not loud enough to wake him up like Angel does. (Mrs. Carter butts in!) They sneak out of their rooms all the time (back to Aaron ) Do I sneak out? No, I love it in there. It's nice and cold because of the air conditioning.
What do you keep out under the bed?
There's a painting that Nick did, his very first one. It's of a man - look! Let me see what else is there is (disappears under the bed for absolutely ages, then..) Ha...Ha , I'm under here are you coming ? No? (climbing out ) This is where I hide when I don't want mum to catch me.
Why wouldn't you want her to catch you?
In case I'd been naughty of course.
What music you like to listen to?
I like Dr Dre and I have his album right here (runs off and starts throwing CD's everywhere) Look, I like this song it's called Funky Chicken and it's my favorite. Shall I put it on?
What is you favorite expression?
Oh , I'm not sure , I think it's this Star Wars computer game. Look I have loads (starts building a wall of games ) I'm really good at it and I always beat Nick, (Whispering ) but he'll be upset I said that. No, he probably won't actually. He beats me all the other games. No! Wait a minute! My favorite thing is my saxophone that Nick bought for my last birthday. You want me to play it? No? What about my keyboard then.
Nick's bought you a lot of presents, what have you bought him?
I don't need to buy him anything. He can but it all for him self -apart from his B-day of course. He bought me keyboard ...are you sure you don't want me to play it? No? Oh, okay. I bought my sister Leslie a real nice gold necklace once-it was really expensive.
How much?
Ooh, loads. It has a star at the end filled with millions of real diamonds . They are real, you know honest.
Whose is that football you've been bouncing around?
It's mine. We play when we have the chance but it's usually Angel who wins. I like riding my motorbike the best though, I can do wheelies-shall I'll show you now? No? My Dad bought the bike for me as a present, it's my second-best present. My first is an 18 ft boat that's parked right outside the house and I can sail it on my own.
How do you like spending you free time?
I like going swimming in our pool outside, I can do lots of great dives and things. I might go visit my friend Michael's house. He lives just across the water so I'll either ride my bike around or sail over in the boat on my own of course. I might even go for fishing.
You can fish then?
Oh yeah , I do it all the time . We have flying fish here and they are really easy to catch. Sometimes I go with Nick, sometimes on my own.(Changing the subject) Is there time for us to go ride on my motor bike now? NO?(Back to the fishing). We cast off the net and throw it in, wait a while then pull it out. I can cook them myself you know. Can I cook you one for dinner? No, I'm sorry I don't have time.
There are lots of animals roaming around, how many do you own?
We have seven all together . There's Simba, Samson, Salt and pepper who are all dogs. Lucky, Sugar and Muffy are cats - Muffy has seven toes. We also have fishes and birds. Sometimes I take the dogs for a walk -they drag me along. But they're good dogs . They once save my life when I fell in the water while I was sleeping outside. They jumped in and pulled me by arms to the shore, they rescued me. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them.
Hmm, so what's like being a famous pop star?
It's cool but I haven't told anyone in my school yet. I was in a band before called DEAD END for about a year but I left as they wanted to do alternative music and I wanted to do more pop . Do I get nervous when going on stage? Yeah, sometimes but Nick gives me a few tips. He said that I could imagine that there were only three people in the audience. That's really helped me a lot.
Have you appeared on the stage with Nick?
That last time I was performing CRUSH ON YOU in Europe the Backstreet Boys came out onto the stage as a surprise and started dancing - I was really shocked. The girls started screaming louder so I just did the cartwheel.
What are you hoping to do as a pop star that you can't do now?
I want to go to GERMANY for a year so that I can learn German. I know some already want to hear? (Starts waffling in German for five minutes , repeating the same words) I think that would be kind of cool -I really like traveling. The first thing I do when I do to a new country is go shopping for trainers-usually.
Is anyone else you would like to record with?
Nick , but I 've already done a single with him .It's called Please Don't Go Girl, a cover of the New Kids On The Block single. It was real fun working with him. I'd like to make a couple more but we'll have to wait.
How do you cope with all your home work now that you're travelling the world?
I take it with me. I have soooooooo much homework to do at the moment from the ground right up to here (Points to the ceiling). I'll have to take it all to Europe with me to finish it off. But I really like school, my best subject is Math. The girls in the school think I'm silly you know. I wear weird clothes-like my Adidas pants.
But Sporty Spice wears ADIDAS so she is silly?
No, way I really like the Spice Girls .I don't really have favorite. I like them all just the same .If they came to my house I might catch them a fish for a dinner -but they probably don't like fish.
Why not? I don't know, probably because flying fish have bones and they're not that good. I might have to cook fish for someone who likes to chew bones instead! Can we go out and play now? (Jumping off chair and whizzing outside.)
