AARON CARTER & CATHY RIGBY TO REMAIN IN THE HAT
An odd pairing to be sure, but the teen idol and the former Olympic gold medallists are big business on Broadway. As a result, the one-two punch of Aaron Carter and Cathy Rigby will continue in Seussical the Musical a week longer than expected.
Thirteen-year-old pop phenom Carter will continue playing Jojo, the big-"Think"ing young Who, through May 13th, while Rigby will continue playing the Cat in the Hat through May 20th. No casting has been announced beyond that, which is unusual for such a big show?although plenty of rumors about Rosie O'Donnell (who played the Cat for three weeks in January and February) persist to bobble about.
In other good Seussical news, the musical earned nominations for three Drama Desk Awards including Best Music (Stephen Flaherty) and Outstanding Actor in a Musical (Kevin Chamberlin).
