Young California pop singer Aaron Carter returned to Halifax on Tuesday to meet hundreds of fans during an autograph session at Wal-Mart in Bayers Lake.
About 400 pre-teens and teenagers lined up outside of Wal-Mart waiting anxiously to meet their idol.
Thirteen-year-old Ashley Jessome of Halifax was outside the store at 6:30 a.m. and waited all day to meet the 12-year-old singer, whose older brother is Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys.
"He's worth it," said the beaming Jessome.
"He's my favourite," said 12-year-old Amanda Turpin, who stood in line behind Jessome since 7:30 a.m.
Breakfast Television's Scott Boyd warmed up the crowd. The throng yelled, "Aaron, Aaron, Aaron!" as he entered through the back gate and was escorted to a table set up under a white tent and began signing autorgraphs.
His fans, many in tears, approached Carter and handed him their CDs, posters, magazines and photo albums to have signed. This was Carter's fourth visit to Halifax.
Following the autograph session a pizza party was held. Owen Wheelock of North East Point, Elyse Weaver of Sydney, Kathie-Lee Bennett of Halifax, Krista MacDonald of Dartmouth and Jennifer Frizzell of Truro were among the lucky fans who had a chance to get into the party courtesy of a contest through the Herald.
