Aaron-Carter.com's Biography

It’s inevitable that with age comes growth. Well, five years into his career and five years older, Aaron Carter is showing the world how much he has grown.

At thirteen, Carter is one of just a few kids his age to attain the level of success that he has thus far. Astonishingly, in his first few years of performing, he set a record for being the youngest artist to garner four consecutive top 40 singles in the UK. Soon after, his fan base grew to numbers beyond the thousands and stretched into the millions. Aaron’s energetic performance and charming persona began to whip kids into an excitable frenzy. His second album Aaron’s Party (Come Get It) debuted at #16 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart its first week out and is nearly Double Platinum. The single of the same name went to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales Chart and is certified Platinum. This chart success lead to two sold out tours of his own in the United States as well as a home video, Aaron’s Party (Come Get It) THE VIDEOS which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Music Home Video Charts and is certified Platinum.

His unique accomplishments did not come without an abundance of hard work. It helps that he is a born talent (singing and dancing since the age of two) with irrepressible energy. These qualities inspired the producers of Broadway’s Seussical to recruit Aaron for a stint in the spring of 2001. The show was met by a sold out crowd for each of his performances.

Aaron’s free spirit and endless affinity for fun jump out and grab you up into a musical ride. It is on his third album, Oh Aaron (release date August 7, 2001), that his party continues with fun-filled songs that are sure to make heads bounce and bootys move.

The new album brings Aaron together with his brother, Nick Carter, of the Backstreet Boys as well as the fresh, female music group No Secrets, for a collaboration on the title track and first single. This song features a storytelling rap from Aaron and Nick over a chiming calypso melody. After promising "everyone and their cousin" tickets to a Backstreet Boys show, it is big brother, Nick, who makes a deal with Aaron to bail him out of the mess he has gotten into. No Secrets also lend a hand to the track, "Stride (Jump On the Fizzy)," a playful reworking of Matthew Wilder’s 1983 hit song "Break My Stride."

The time has come for Aaron to show the world how much he’s matured, and he does just that on the slick and sexy "Not Too Young, Not Too Old," which includes some more vocal helpings from big brother Nick. Sure to move the crowd, "Not Too Young…" begins to pump up the album’s adrenaline, but things are just getting started. The body-rockin’ "Come Follow Me" and the rollicking "Baby It’s You," keep it jumping. Softened only by a sweet ballad called "I’m All About You," Oh Aaron embodies that carefree, jovial spirit that makes being young so much fun; a spirit that has attracted so many excited fans from Oklahoma City to Berlin.

Though he is growing and maturing, Aaron steadfastly embraces the ideal of staying young. The bubbly and down to earth boy sings about just that on "The Kid In You," reinforcing his belief. "It makes no sense if I’m not having fun," he says. As long as he is making music, which he insists he wants to do "forever and ever," he always will. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Aaron Carter.com's Biography

In the Beginning: Aaron Charles Carter--namesake of his Grampa Charles Douglas Spaulding, (he goes by Doug) and Grandpa "Chuck" Carter--was born at Tampa General Children's Hospital in Tampa, Florida on December 7, 1987.

Aaron was lucky enough to have company (in addition to his Mom) at that precious time, as his twin Angel was born only minutes before he joined the world. Aaron and Angel were welcomed by their three siblings, Bobbie Jean (B.J.), Leslie, and of course, Nick. Both B.J. and Nick were born at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY, where the family lived before moving to Florida. Leslie was born in Florida, at the Garden Villa Retirement Home, where the Carter family lived and worked at the time.

With two sisters already, who wouldn't be happy to have a new little brother? Nick frequently expressed delight at the addition of the newest members of the family...especially his first (and only) brother! A Performer Extraordinaire according to Top of the Pops magazine, Nick was the first to actually ask Aaron if perhaps he too wanted to sing. Says Aaron, "If Nick wasn't a singer, then I wouldn't be here. He supports me and is the one who asked me if I wanted to sing. I was interested in performing before, but I think it would have been a lot harder." It may not have been as difficult as Aaron suggests, however.

Aaron's musical career actually began when he was seven, when he landed the position of lead singer in a band called Dead End. Since then, he set the world record for the most hit songs recorded by a person his age in music history! Aaron and Dead End parted friends after about two years, with Aaron declaring "... they wanted to do alternative music and I wanted to do more pop." From that point forward, he was a solo act, and he began to spend much of his time in vocal training. It wasn't long before Aaron was putting his voice lessons to work.

In March of 1997, Aaron performed during a Backstreet Boys' concert in Berlin, Germany, and he stole the show! After the concert, he was offered a record contract on the spot by an Edel Record Company executive who saw him perform, and in the fall of 1997, he released his first single, Crush On You. He followed that with Crazy Little Party Girl, I'm Gonna Miss You Forever, and Shake It, all of which became very popular overseas. After going gold in Norway, Spain, Denmark, Canada, and Germany, Aaron's first full album, Aaron Carter, hit the stores in the US on June 16, 1998, and was a big success.

Aaron released another single--Surfin' USA--a remake of the Beach Boys' famous song. He also worked with such musical talents as The Moffatts, Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, Gil Ofarim and others to make a single called Let the Music Heal Your Soul. They called themselves the Bravo All Stars, and donated the time they spent in studio on the single and its proceeds to benefit the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Foundation, an organization that treats disabled and autistic children through the use of a specially designed kind of music therapy.

2000 was Aaron's breakthrough year. He release his smash album Aaron's Party (Come Get It), and a tremendously successful single and video of the same name. He opened for Britney Spears on the U.S. leg of her 2000 world tour, and he was also the subject of a biography written by his Mom. Aaron also moved back to Florida (to the Florida Keys) and made numerous hugely popular and successful appearances on Disney, Nickelodeon, Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, and Rosie O'Donnell.

2001 has been a smash hit already! Aaron has already garnered the Favorite Rising Star award at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. He also received rave reviews for his performances as Jojo the Who in the Broadway hit musical, Seussical the Musical. His multiplatinum album peaked at number 4 on the Billboard charts, while he was also ranked at number 52 on Rolling Stone's Hot 100 Artists.

Has all the fame and fortune changed young Aaron? Naah. He's the same loveable kid he's always been. Asked what makes him the most happy, Aaron responds gleefully "Making my fans and family happy, and having fun!" And he's doing a great job at all three!

Rolling Stones.com Biography

Over the course of his brief music career, Aaron Carter has managed an impressive feat: He has become a teen idol before actually becoming a teen. Carter, age 10 (and three fourths), is the younger brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter.

Aaron began singing at age six, forming a band, Dead End, with two of his Florida elementary-school classmates. After two years, however, Aaron left Dead End, citing artistic differences. He decided to pursue a solo career and began working with a vocal coach. At the same time, brother Nick's group was taking off in Europe. Aaron performed occasionally with the Backstreet Boys, gaining international exposure that Dead End's gigs at the local library just couldn't provide. Aaron soon landed a contract with the German label Edel Records and issued his first European single, "Crush on You," in August 1997. One of very few Jets covers recorded anywhere in the world, "Crush on You" reached the Top 10 in several countries.

Following a European tour, Aaron released his first full-length album worldwide in 1998. His self-titled debut brings to the world Carter's European singles ("Crush on You," "Crazy Little Party Girl") and continues his tradition of ground-breaking covers with "Please Don't Go Girl," probably history's first New Kids on the Block cover. The album has gone gold in Spain, Denmark, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Taiwan, Indonesia and Thailand. In the Philippines, Aaron Carter has achieved platinum sales.
