Interveiw August 2000

Aaron's Interview, August 2000 Q: I noticed there are some skits featuring your brother on your new album, Aaron’s Party (Come Get It) how did you like working with him?
A: It was a lot of fun and very cool to do.
Q: What's the difference between your first and second album musically?
A: There are a lot of changes; first off my voice has changed quite a bit. My voice has matured a lot, and fans will notice my music has more of an R&B style to it.
Q: Are there any plans do any movies or television shows?
A: I've done a little bit of everything, I was going to do a television show of my own, but it was cancelled. I’ve also worked on the Pokemon soundtrack, which was a lot of fun to work on.
Q: How do you balance and stay grounded, not allowing all this success to go to over your head?
A: I have my parents, and my mom is my manager so she keeps me grounded. On the road, I have a tutor who helps me with my schoolwork.
Q: How is touring with Britney Spears different than touring last year on the All That Music Tour?
A: All That was fun and awesome. There were a lot more kids at that show compared to Britney. There’s a much older crowd at the Britney shows, too.
Q: Does it ever bother you that people think of you as Nick Carter's little brother? Is it hard to be your own artist?
A: I prefer to be myself, but I’ll always be Nick Carter’s little brother and that’s cool with me.
Q: Are there any downsides to being in the music business? Would you have preferred to have finished school then go into the business? Do your friends back home treat you any differently because you’re famous?
A: There are downsides to it, but I love performing and I wouldn’t change anything about it. I wouldn’t change anything about when I started going into the business, I have a tutor who helps me out a lot. Some of my friends treat me differently, but they’re cool.
Q: What do you like about performing? How have the fans responded to you?
A: The best thing about performing is being with the fans; they make us who we are. The fans have been really cool and fun to be around. I love performing for them and just hanging out with them.
Q: What can people expect on your second album?
A: They can expect a fun album. It’s supposed to be like a house party.
Q: Who are some of your musical influences and why?
A: Michael Jackson, because he has an incredible style, he is different, and there is no other one like him and he’s an amazing dancer.
Q: Do you have any pets at home?
A: I have a lot of pets at home: a few dogs, 8 cats, 6 birds, 2 iguanas and a lot of hamsters.
Q: Do you like to collect anything in particular?
A: I like to collect Beanie Babies and baseball cards. I even have a signed Mickey Mantle baseball card.
Q: What was it like being a presenter for the Teen Choice Awards?
A: It was fun and exciting. BBMak and Hoku are really nice.
Q: What are your plans after the Britney tour?
A: I get one day off, then I go on a five-week Asian tour.
Q: When is your new album coming out?
A: My album is due out in stores on September 26.
