My Concert Experience *Nottingham, Jan 31st 2002*

We saw the concert hall from miles away and the few hundred people already inside so in we went and waited. Whilst we were waiting I looked around for someone with a bandana around their wrist but unluckily I didn't see any.But I did see sexual sharmin from the first ever aired Pop Idol, the one who cried, hehe.

Anyway at about 6:50 they started letting everyone upstairs to buy merchandise and food (and I think to stop the queue from going any further down the road!). So I was crushed whilst trying to buy my stuff but luckily I got out alive. I ended up spending £25 I think, what a bloody rob!

Then we waited for about another 20 mins before they started letting everyone into the actual auditorium. We were row K seats 28 and 29 so we went in and sat down, I couldnt believe how close we was! I was like OMG! the stage was so close. Then a girl on my right asked if I was Beccy and I sed yeah and it turned out she was a girl that i'd been talking to online for a while, it was really weird seeing her in person but it was good.

At about 7:40 Kaci came onstage and performed the 3 songs we all know and a few others, her backup dancers were really quite scary but good in the weirdest way possible, oh and I looked up on the balcony and spotted Pop Idol boy trying to do the routines which was more frightening than anything.

After Kaci had worn out her welcome we got Warren Stacey...I mean come on...Warren pigging Stacey! He was trying to be really cool and get all the girls feeling 'hot' but I felt more sick. So he thrusted himself around wih the whole 3 songs then the lights went on and we had an intermission. During this point anyone who walked around the back of the stage would get a huge scream and think they were really important.

When they had finished All For Love it faded into Take Me Under and this dance was just brilliant! After this they all stopped and introduced themselves (of course we all knew who they were anyway, maybe it was just for strays who had wondered in from the rain) and everyone went totally crazy. I really can't remember the order of the songs because I was just in a complete daze at how amazing they sang and looked in real life, it was just fantastic being that close!

When they sang girl they looked up into the balcony and started talking going so what do you think it takes to get a girl like that? Then they did a great version of that puffy song 'mo money' or summats, well it was great anyway. Half way in they all came on seperately and did a solo performance of one of their favourite songs which were (in order)
Dan - Superstitious by Stevie Wonder
Jacob - Come Together by Michael Jackson (origionally by the Beetles)
Ashley - Name, his graduation song from MTB2 (it was dead good!)
Trevor - Some Garth Brooks song that was really good
Erik - Purple Rain by Prince
They were all good but half way through purple rain all the other guys came on after a costume change and joined in, one of the best songs of the whole show in my opinion

They also performed a new song called American Game. This song is so cool! Jacon and Dan co-wrote it I think and they both came on with their guitars then the others joined in. I seriously hope this is a single! I can't remember much but I do remember the chorus

I play the American Game
But I dont play the same
I got my hat tipped down
Got my peace sign out
And i'm not gonna change

It had a really rock sound kinda like every six seconds.

Some girl got to go onstage , i'm suprised they didnt stop the show because I was cursing her so loud. Anyway they were all playing with her hair and singing the painter and shy girl to her, eurgh it was sickening (unless it would have been me up there of course)

They finished off the show with All or Nothing.
The whole thing was just brilliant.

By the way did I mention that Ashley actually looked at me, for that split second his eyes were on mine, there was serious eye contact going on and he knew that I existed! Thats like major! He might have thought wow I need to run away with that girl right there, well he probably didnt but hey do I spoil your fantasies?? I'm so shallow, I actually found myself thinking at one point that I was breathing O-Town air and wondered if I had breathed in an oxygen molecule that Ashley could have had in his mouth...did I say that out loud? ooooopppssss lol.
Oh and I had my bandana on my arm (like a good o-town fan) and Erik noticed and waved at me! Also Trevor winked at me!

The whole night was just brilliant! I know i've used that word a lot but I cant think of another to describe it! Ashley looked so hot! They all did and they were all brilliant dancers and it made me laugh when they got carried away with the band, at one point Dan was on one of the bands shoulders,lol. Those of you who were there will know how cool it was and those of you who weren't will just have to go to their next show, but honestly I can't think of when I had more fun! They are just the best and with performances like that we all know why!
