THE STORY SO FAR

"You Freak Me Out" was featured on the soundtrack to the remake of Disney's "Freaky Friday" starring Jamie Lee Curtis. The girls attended the premiere of the film but decided not to release "You Freak Me Out" as their next single.

Girls Aloud saw in 2004 at London's G-A-Y with yet another memorable performance. They were dressed as red Christmas fairies and Cheryl and Nicola headlined the newspapers the next day as they had "shared a moment" on stage at midnight.

The girls took a well deserved break at the start of 2004 but it didn't stop Cheryl, Sarah and Nadine being voted into FHM's "100 Sexiest Women in the World"! Cheryl came in at No.22, Sarah at No. 26 and Nadine at No. 46.

The 2004 Glamour Magazine Awards were held in June and the girls picked up their second award, winning "Best Band".

June 2004 also saw the girls' highly anticipated return with their cracking new single "The Show". They appeared on numerous music shows as well as performing at radio roadshows all over the country. The girls also did yet another performance at G-A-Y where the rest of the girls suprised Cheryl with a massive birthday cake to celebrate her 21st. "The Show" entered the chart at No.2, again beaten to the top spot. This time it was topped by Usher's "Burn".

The girls changed their sound yet again for their sixth single. "Love Machine" had a definite 60's sound with a catchy riff you just couldn't get out of your head! But AGAIN they narrowly missed out on the top spot, this time beaten by Eric Prydz's summer anthem "Call On Me". Would the girls ever get another number 1?!
