Justin just sat there, his eyes glued to Madison. He didn't know how long
he'd been silent, he figured awhile because Madison started to give him weird
looks.
Madison looked at Justin, just sitting there. She wished she could tell what he
was thinking, he'd been quiet for awhile now.
"Justin…." She whispered. "Justin, say something.
Anything!" she said.
Justin still sat there, finding no words to say. Instead he grabbed her and took
her into his arms and just held her tightly. She smiled as they pulled away and
Justin just looked at her smiling. Madison's expression turned serious and
looked straight at Justin. Seeing him there, looking at her made her feel safe
in her decision.
"Justin, I've had a whole eight hours to think of this, but I know one
thing. I am having this baby." She said. "I totally understand
if you don't want…" she started.
Justin brought his finger to her lips to silence her. "Madd! Don't ever
think that I'm not going to be here. Please! I'm not leaving you Madison. Not
now, not ever." He said, interrupting her.
Madison smiled and sighed.
"Madd, I love you. You know that." He smiled.
"I know you do. And I love you too." She smiled. "But this is
big, it's not going to go away."
"Madison, if I had to choose, there's no one I'd rather share this with.
Yeah, we didn't plan on this, but we'll deal with it. We're in this together,
ok?" he said.
"Yeah." She replied.
"Now… Tell me everything…." Justin said, settling back into the
couch.
**~*~*~*~**
Justin opened his eyes and looked over to Madison's side of the bed, but found
it empty. He slowly got up from the bed and went out into the living room to see
Madison hanging up the phone. He went up behind her and wrapped his arms around
her waist.
"Good Morning" he whispered into her ear.
"Good Morning" she smiled, resting her head back onto his chest.
He turned her around and kissed her softly on the lips. She smiled, and eagerly
accepted his mouth on hers. She ran her fingertips through his curls as his
hands worked his way up and down her back. After a minute they parted.
"It definitely is a good morning." Justin smiled.
Madison smiled back at him and shook her head.
"You sure you'll be ok while I go to work" she asked.
"Madd, I told you. I'll be fine. I'll stay here and watch you on TV."
He smiled.
"Funny, cause that's what I do when you're not here."
She joked.
"You watch yourself on TV?" he joked
"You know what I mean." She rolled her eyes and smiled.
"I know" Justin smiled. "Seriously, I'll be fine here. I'll see
you when you get home."
"Alright. Oh, I just got off the phone with the doctor and we have an
appointment tomorrow morning." She said.
"Sounds good. My flight is tomorrow evening." He said.
"I know" she said "Let's not talk about that yet" she
smiled.
"Deal" he smiled back.
"Ok, well, I should get going. You know where everything is, please help
yourself and I will see you later." Madison said, walking to the door.
Justin walked over to the door with her and opened it for her.
"I love you" she said, walking out the door.
"I love you too" he smiled, leaning in to give her a kiss.
They parted and both smiled, knowing that they would be ok even, with this
unexpected news.
Justin walked back into the apartment and joined Jacey on the couch. He had
tried he damnedest to keep positive for Madison, but truthfully, he was scared
shitless. Selfishly, he worried about what was going to happen once he got back
to Orlando. How on earth was he going to tell the rest of the guys? How would JC
react to this? And worst of all, what did this mean for his career? He laid back
on the couch and drifted back off to sleep, Jacey on his lap.
**~*~*~*~**
Madison walked into the darkness of her apartment. 'Where was Justin, and why
were all the lights off?' she thought to herself. Just then a light in the
middle of the living room flickered and Madison saw a lone candle set on a
table.
"Justin?" Madison whispered.
Justin walked out into the living, dressed to impress.
"My lady!" he smiled.
"Justin, what did you do?" she smiled.
"Nothing much. Just a romantic dinner for two. How does that sound?"
he asked.
"It sounds wonderful, let me put my stuff away." She said.
"Allow me…" he said, taking her coat and bags into the bedroom.
Madison walked into the living room, set with candles, music and pillows all
around her coffee table. She turned towards Justin.
"I don't believe you did all this…" she smiled.
"Nothing's too good for you." He smiled "Now, have a seat, and
dinner will be out in a minute." He said, leading her to her spot around
the table.
She sat down as he disappeared into the kitchen. He returned with a bottle and
two glasses.
"Sparkling cider… For the mother-to-be…" he smiled.
Madison smiled as he poured each of them a glass.
"A toast" he said, raising his glass. "To us and our
future."
"I'll drink to that" she said.
A timer in the kitchen went off and Justin excused himself. He brought in dinner
and served it to Madison. After dessert they cleaned up and settled back into
the sofa to watch a movie. Before it started Madison turned to Justin and
smiled.
"J, I want to thank you for tonight. It was beautiful" she said.
"I'd do anything for you, Madison." She said seriously.
Madison bowed her head and went on.
"Justin, there's going to come a time when you're not going to be
able to be here, and I understand that. I just want you to know that I'm happy
with this, with us. Don't ever question that." She said.
"Madison, I wish it didn't have to be understood that I won't always
be here. But just the fact that you understand is a blessing to me. You're
a blessing to me." He said.
Their lips met in a slow, soft kiss. Once they parted, Madison smiled.
"Did you call the guys yet?" she asked.
"No. I figured it would be best to tell them in person." He said.
"How do you think that'll go?" she asked.
"I don't know what to begin thinking about that. But one thing's for
certain. One certain person is not going to be too happy." He said,
thinking about JC.
Madison sighed and looked at Justin.
"I know." She said. "Look, J, if you want me to go down with you
to break the news, I will."
"No. I think is might actually be better to do by myself. It's going to be
an odd situation and I don't want to put you into it. We'll tell our own share
of people together." He smiled.
She nodded. "Like our parents…J…what the hell are we gonna tell our
parents?" she said.
"Tell them the truth, Madd. There's nothing else we can tell them." He
said reasonably. "We'll try to get them together first and tell them all at
once. No use in going through it twice."
Madison looked at him, shocked. "You've thought a lot about this,
huh?" she smiled.
"Well, when you have a day to just think…yeah…I thought about it a
little." He smiled back.
"Well, I propose that we don't think for the rest of the night and
just do a mindless act of watching TV." Madison suggested.
"That's the best thing I've heard all day" Justin smiled.
The two cuddled together on the couch, flicking on the TV, willing to be taken
into that other world.
**~*~*~*~**
Madison smiled as her and Justin walked into the doctor's office hand in hand.
They were seated in the office Madison had visited a few days before. A few
minutes passed and Dr. Patricia Intel walked into the room.
"Miss. Wilkes, it's nice to see you again" she smiled.
"Thank you. You too." Madison returned her smile.
Patricia turned to Justin and extended her hand, as she did, Madison introduced
them.
"Doctor, this is Justin Timberlake. Justin, this is Dr. Patricia
Intel."
"Nice to meet you, Doctor." He smiled.
"And you as well" she smiled. "I'll be completely honest with the
two of you. I'm aware of your complex situation here. I have a ten-year-old
daughter, so I'm pretty well informed. But what I want tell you, is that you are
no different from any other of my patients. You have complete
confidentiality. My family, as well as anyone not in this room will know nothing
about this situation or that it even exists. Only you choose who you tell, that
is not something that either of you have to worry about on our end." She
said.
"We appreciate that doctor" Justin smiled, and reached for Madison's
hand.
"Ok, now that we got that out of the way. I'd like to discuss with both of
you what the next eight months are going to entail."
**~*~*~*~**
Madison and Justin sat at the deserted restaurant in downtown New York.
"I don't believe that in eight months there's gonna be another little
person in our lives. That meeting was amazing." He smiled.
"I know. It's a little over whelming, isn't it?" Madison asked.
"A little. More for you though." He answered. "It's going to be
an interesting eight months, huh?"
"Yeah, that's for sure." She smiled.
Madison pulled a piece of paper out of her purse, picturing their baby's first
photograph from the ultrasound. Justin smiled as her saw her face light up.
Nothing made him happier than seeing her smile.
"June Eighth" Madison smiled. "At least I won't be pregnant
through the summer."
I'll be there" Justin smiled. "If anything else… I will
there."
"Just hearing that makes me happy." Madison smiled. "But I
understand if…"
"Madd. I'll be there." He promised.
Madison smiled and took a sip of her water.
"So, you leave in two hours. What do you want to do?" she asked.
"Doesn't matter." He smiled. "I just wanna be with you".
**~*~*~*~**
Justin sat on the plane, awaiting landing. The whole four hour flight, he
evaluated different ways of telling the guys. Now though, nothing seemed to be
sensible. He walked through the terminal and got into the airport, Lonnie not
far behind. He appreciated Lonnie not being too close through-out his stay in
New York. He kept the distance that you would've hardly known he was there. He
didn't ask questions and Justin didn't say anything. He wanted the guys to be
the first people he told. They got into their car and drove to join up with the
guys.
Justin arrived at home and saw no sign of movement. It was later than he
expected, the news would just have to wait till tomorrow.
**~*~*~*~**
Madison smiled as she walked into her office and saw Carson sitting there.
"You waiting for me?" she smiled, kissing him on the cheek.
"Hey sweetheart" he smiled. "Yeah, I was. I wanted to see how it
went with Justin."
Madison smiled. "It went wonderfully. We went to the doctor together
yesterday for the first check-up and everything is fine. I'm due June
Eighth." She said.
"I'm glad you're happy" Carson smiled.
"I am. I admit I was a little worried about his reaction, but he was
wonderful." She smiled.
"Good. I would've had to hurt him otherwise." Carson laughed.
"Ha, Ha. Well relax, we're fine. Besides, I think Justin is going through
enough right now telling the guys." She said.
"Ah yes… that oughta be interesting." Carson said. "Speaking of
telling people, are you going to tell Steve?" he asked.
"Yeah, I have a meeting with him in a few minutes." She answered.
"I'm going that way. I'll walk you there." He said, getting up.
Madison walked out of the room with Carson and headed to her bosses office. She
didn't know exactly know what to tell him, but she figured he had the right to
know either way.
::Knock, Knock::
Madison waited outside his office.
"Come in" he shouted from inside.
Madison walked inside and smiled. "Hi Steve" she said.
"Hey Madison. You're feeling better I see?" he asked.
"Yeah, a little, thanks" she smiled. "Listen, I need to talk to
you."
"Alright, close the door… Sit down." He said, taking a seat behind
his desk. "What's on your mind?"
"Well, to make a long story, short. I went to my doctor Monday and they
took some tests…" she started.
"Oh my God… Madison, are you ok?!" Steve said, leaning forward.
"Oh yeah." She smiled. "I'm just… I'm just pregnant." She
said.
"Pregnant? Madison are you serious?" he said, shocked.
Madison laughed. "It's not somethin' I'm gonna joke about, Steve."
"I know, I'm sorry." He recovered. "Congratulations." He
said, still a little shocked.
"Thank you." She smiled.
"So, do I know him? The father, I mean." He smiled.
"Um, yeah… probably." She said, smiling.
"Madison, you can tell me… " he said.
"Justin Timberlake" she said softly.
"Wow. I didn't even realize the two of you… well… knew each other, that
well anyway." He stammered.
Madison smiled. "I met Justin earlier this year, we started seeing each
other about three months ago" she smiled.
"So you're the mysterious girlfriend, huh?" Steve smiled.
"That would be me" Madison said. "I would really appreciate this
not getting around to anyone. Carson is the only other person that knows, other
than Justin of course."
"You have complete secrecy Madison." He said, seriously. "I
appreciate you're honesty with me. When the time comes we'll definitely find
off-camera work for you."
"Thanks Steve. That means a lot to me." She smiled.
"No chance of us getting' rid of ya Madd. We love ya too much." He
smiled.
"Good to know" she smiled, getting up from the chair.
"If you need anything, don't hesitate to come see me." He smiled,
walking her to the door.
"I will" she said, walking out the door. "Bye."
Steve went back into his office and took a seat. If there was anything that he
wasn't expecting today, that was it. 'Madison and Justin.' He thought to
himself. He had been the one to hire Madison. He liked her, and he believed in
her talents. If it was the last thing he did, he would make everything work for
her, on the professional end at least.
**~*~*~*~**
Justin sat down at the kitchen table with his bowl of cereal.
"Hey man!" JC yelled from the hall. "I didn't know you were
back." He said, walking into the kitchen and reaching for the juice.
"I got back last night" he said. "I didn't know anyone was here
so I just went to bed."
"So… everything ok?” he asked, sitting down at the table across from
Justin.
Before he could open his mouth to answer, Joey, Chris and Lance walked through
the front door, laughing about something Joey had said on the way over. They
walked in the kitchen, joining the first two.
"Hey J! Lance exclaimed, walking into the kitchen.
"Hey guys" Justin smiled.
"Hey JC, what goin' on" Joey said, greeting him.
"Actually, Justin was just about to tell me about his trip." JC said
"Well then… do tell." Chris said.
Justin stared at them all for awhile, not knowing exactly what to say or how to
say it.
"Alright." He started. "Well…" Justin said. "Madison
got a little surprise at the doctor's office on Monday."
"She's ok, isn't she?" JC interrupted.
"Yes. She's fine. My worrying was for nothing." He said.
"So why was she sick…" Joey asked, concerned.
"Best explanation… morning sickness." He said.
The guys looked at each other, no one knowing what to say to Justin's answer.
"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" Lance asked, after
awhile.
"Probably." Justin sighed. "Madison's pregnant." He smiled.
Silence still hung over the other four. Chris was the first to speak.
"Congratulations, man" he said, standing up to hug Justin.
The rest just followed. One by one they shook hands and congratulated Justin. JC
was last in line.
"Congratulations, J" he smiled, shaking his hand and pulling him into
a hug.
Once let go, Justin looked at all the guys. "Thanks guys." He smiled.
"Well, look at you. You can't stop smiling!" Joey said, shaking his
head. "Yeah, I keep trying to stop, but I just can't." he laughed.
"Well, man. We're happy for you." Lance smiled.
"How's Madison?" JC asked.
"She's good. She had a few hours head start with the news so it sunk in a
little before she told me. But she's ok." He said.
"I wouldn't expect anything less" Joey smiled.
The guys were filled with questions. All JC could do was smile and nod along
with the rest of them, but deep down he was hurting. Just when he was getting
used to Justin being with Madison this had to happen. Of course he knew it
wasn't planned, but in any event, it was happening… It was real.
