I crashed into my seat aboard the plane. Thinking about the future was nervewracking, but made me smile just the same. It wasn’t long ago that my college diploma graced my hand for the first time. But here I was, several phone calls, countless emails, two months and an upgrade to first class later. I outstretched my legs as far as the seat in front of me would allow and reached for my headphones. Closing my eyes, I started to drift.

Excuse me? Can I get in there?

I opened my eyes to a man standing over me, pointing to the unoccupied window seat next to me.

Sure, I’m sorry.” I said, standing up to let him in.

As he brushed passed me, something caught my eye. At that, I was aware to my music coming from the headphones hanging from my neck …ever since I saw your face nothing in my life has been the same, I walk around just sayin’ your name, without you my world would end… I returned to my seat, turning off my disc-man all at once. He looked over at me, half smiling.

You didn’t have to turn it off on my account,” he said.

I smiled, pretending to play along. He must have seen akwardness. His eyes had a calming effect, crystal blue and deep enough that I could’ve gotten lost diving into them. He saved me.

You flying alone?” he asked.
Yeah, I’m due in Orlando tomorrow,” I said
Vacation?” he wondered aloud.
No, I have a job interview with Disney.” I answered. so it’s goodbye PA and hello Florida.” I smiled. Just talking about it made me excited.

Sounds like you’re ready to have a blast!” he smile at my happiness. I’ll tell you what. If you give me your name, I’ll give you a personal tour.
How rude of me” I shook my head. I’m Dana.” I said, extending my hand.
Josh he answered, taking my hand in his. “Nice to meet you Dana.” he smiled.
Likewise. I said.

Did he know who he was and that this wasn’t a normal occurrence for me? Courld he tell by looking in my eyes that his poster was up in my room. He obviously knew I had the CD, but hey, didn’t everybody? Like any of my friends were actually going to believe this story when I told them… if I told them. Maybe this would be better off kept between the two of us. Josh and…

Earth to Dana” he waved a hand in front of my face. I shook my head back to reality.
Sorry” I smile and blushed a little. “So, when is this tour gonna happen?” I said, half-joking. Did I expect JC Chasez to have the time to take lil’ old me for a tour.

He smiled. “Here,” he smiled, taking my cell phone from my lap. After punching away, he hand it back to me. “All in. You just give me a call when you’re settled. I’m free for a little while.
Sounds good.” I smiled.
Florida’s great, you’ll love it.” he said smiling. “Where are you staying? Um, which hotel?
Oh. Um, I’m staying with some friends until my apartment’s ready next week. I said.
Friends in Orlando? Damn. And I thought I was your only one.” he joked.

I smiled. The term friend just had a whole new meaning.

Sorry, he said. “I’m just in a mood.” he continued to smile.

I looked at his beaming face and for the first time realized that he truly was beautiful. Not just on the outside, that everyone could see. But truly on the inside, and that was a rare occurrence a great number of people to see. His smiled brightened my day. His smile still brightens my day. I’ve told this story to our children and to our children’s children and never tire of it. Such sweet youth we once had and still live with in our hearts. See… everlasting love does happen.

Welcome to Orlando. We ask that you exit the plane calmly and quickly. Enjoy your stay here in sunny Florida.” I shook my head, standing up still shocked from the dream I just had. Just then a voice interrupted my thoughts.

Excuse me…

I froze. I couldn’t turn around. That voice! I turned around to face him. I smiled. What dreams lie ahead for me? I couldn’t even begin to imagine the possibilities.
