A Change Of Heart

Chapter 2

I walked into the room where the other extras in for the video were waiting.
I saw three other girls sitting there, and I was jealous already by how
gorgeous they were. One had long chestnut brown hair and the best complexion
a girl could ask for. The other girl had blonde hair that was just above
her shoulders and a tan to die for. The third girl had that Latin look about
her...she sort of resembled Jennifer Lopez in a way. I thought to myself, I
am NEVER going to have a chance with Brian now! I sat down next to the girl
with the long brown hair and smiled at her. I was too shy to start a
conversation with her. I was afraid she would think of me as, oh I don’
know, and amateur. I picked up a magazine near by and started to read it,
when a guy with a clipboard came in. He started to call out our names one
by one. As he called each of the girl’s names another girl walked in. "Your
late," the guy with the clipboard said to the tall, skinny blonde that
walked in. She looked at him snubbly, than said, "Well if you didn’t give us
one day to know to come here, maybe I would be on time!". “Do you want this
job or not?" the guy asked her. "Whatever", she said sitting down on the
seat next to me. “Since you were the last to arrive, you must be Alison
than”. “Yeah, that’s me,” she responded. The guy said they would call us
in separately when it was our time for the shots with the guys.
I continued to read my magazine, trying to avoid 'Alison' when suddenly
she interrupted my reading. “I can’t believe they have the nerve to yell at
me when they are the ones that can’t give me the right freakin’ directions!"
I looked up at her and go, "Alison right?' Alison looked at me and said,
"Alie...and you are?".   "Summer Maloney. Are you playing one of the boys
girlfriends, too?" “Yeah. This isn’t my first one with them. I was in ‘As
Long As You Love Me’, too. AJ and I got kind of close from that video.
Actually, he sort of got me the job for this video.” “Oh, so are u going to
play AJ's girlfriend?”, I asked. “Who knows. They put us with whomever they
think we look good with. The same will go for you”, she told me.   “Oh
really?”, I said excited, but than disappointed at the thought of them
thinking I wouldn’t look good with Brian. After two of the girls went in to
the green room to meet with the boys they were being matched up with, I
heard them coming out talking about how great Kevin and Howie were. I was
hoping that they were saying that because those were the two they got
matched up with. Than I thought, Now only if they don’t put me with Nick or
AJ, I will be all set! The guy with the clipboard came back and called my
name. I walked into the green room afraid, yet excited to see if
Brian would be my boyfriend for the video. That is when I saw Brian! Oh how
I dreamed of the day I laid my eyes on him in real life, and now here I was
having him be my boyfriend in their newest video! I finally got the guts to
walk over to Brian, my body shaking, “He-hey Brian,” I said shyly.   "Hey!"
He said with that huge grin of his. “So I guess I will be playing your
girlfriend, huh?" I asked him confidently. “Ohhh, so your Jessica!" He said,
putting out his hand to shake mine. JESSICA??!?!? I was totally zoned out
that I didn’t notice the guy say that my boyfriend for the video would be
NICK!   A big lump formed in my throat. “Uhh...no. I'm summer," I said,
looking down at my feet, with my face getting redder by the minute. This
was NOT how I interpreted my first encounter with Brian to be. “Summer?" He
said questionably at first. He paused than said, "Well it’s nice to meet
you, Summer". "Summer Maloney!" another guy called from across the room. I
quickly ran over after smiling at Brian. When I walked over there, the guy
said, "Come and meet your girlfriend, Nick" Nick looked at me with a funny
smile on his face. I was wondering why his mouth looked funny until I
realized he had food in his mouth. “How ya doin’?" he asked with that same
smile, mumbling through the food. I couldn't help but laugh. “Fine thanks.
And you?" I said still laughing. "I'm doing pretty good. This food they have
here is awesome!" I laughed again. I never realized Nick was so funny. I
mean, I knew he was funny, but I always gave Brian the credit for being the
humorous one of the group. The guy that called nick over interrupted our
conversation saying, "You guys better get to know each other because you
will be seeing each other for three days straight!" Nick and I looked at
each other and laughed. "You better watch out," said a short guy with curly
hair, walking over to us. "This kid likes to pull tricks on everyone he
knows!" "Oh really?" I responded with a grin. “Yeah, so consider that a
warning," Nick said, finally chewing up all the food in his mouth. By that
time, a lady dragged me away from Nick and Howie and into the makeup room.
