Chapter 7
This was the day. The day that Nick was supposed to get married. It wasn't a day of happiness as it should have been for any groom, but one of misery. Nick and Paradise were led into a room. A court room to be exact. They had decided on a court room wedding instead of spending money on something that wasn't at all special to either of them.
The ceremony went on and at last, Nick and Paradise signed the papers confirming their marriage. When they left the room, they were met up with Richard.
"Nick! Wait up."
"What?" Nick asked as he turned around.
"Where are you going?"
"Home!"
"Aren't you gonna take your wife with you?"
Nick froze. "You are kidding me! I have to live with her?"
Richard nodded. "I'm sorry, but that's the way it is. The public has to buy the fact that you're married."
"Ugh! Another thing I give up for my career! Fine! Tell her to follow me home." Nick said as he walked off to his car.
Minutes later, the newly wed couple was home. Nick watched Paradise get out of her shiny black BMW. "Black...the color suits her." Nick thought looking at her car. "If she wasn't out to ruin my life, I would actually think she was attractive. Who the hell am I kidding? She's still attractive."
Nick walked into the house with Paradise in tow. "You can go upstairs and find a guestroom to sleep in during your stay. Of course if it were up to me, you'd be out on the streets."
"Don't talk to me like that. It was just as much as you fault as it was mine!"
"Don't tell me that it was my fault! I was drunk!"
"Well then maybe you shouldn't have been so drunk off your ass!" Paradise said as she stomped upstairs.
"And don't you dare go into my bedroom!" Nick yelled after her.
Paradise ignored Nick's last remark and went to find a guestroom to sleep in. She chose one at the far corner of the hall. It had its own bathroom, a balcony, walk-in closet, and it was a spacious size. The house itself wasn't bad at all. It was very comfy, yet it was missing something. Paradise had always thought that celebrities would use their money to buy humongouse mansions and flashy cars, but that was not the case with Nick Carter. His house was big, but it had a great feel to it that just made you want to stay. Not that Nick was giving any hospitality to Paradise to make her want to stay. If it were up to her, Paradise would have packed her bags ages ago and never even looked at his face. But she had to do this. It was part of the plan.
