Chapter Fifteen

"Bye guys," shouted Alanna and Ashlyn at the 5 men that waved them off.

Alanna sat back and sighed as Ashlyn pulled out of Justin's driveway. "What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing."

"What was the big sigh for then?"

"It's just been a long day."

"Fun though right?"

"Yeah I guess."

"You don't sound so sure." Ashlyn glanced at her friend before returning her gaze to the road.

"I guess it was just overwhelming meeting all those new people."

"Yeah Justin's brother is a character isn't he?"

"Yeah. Can you believe he thought me and JC were dating?" she laughed.

"Is that such a far fetched thing?"

"Oh come on Ashlyn, he's a world famous pop star. He could have anyone he wants."

"Yeah and what if he wants you?” Alanna gave her a disbelieving look. “You know they're not like that Alanna. Anyway if you'd forgotten you are doing okay in this music thing as well."

"I haven't even released my first single."

"Give it time," Ashlyn assured.

Alanna spent the rest of the ride home thinking about what Ashlyn had said. Would JC ever consider her as more than a friend?

"Hey mom."

Anne Scott turned from the stove to see her daughter enter the kitchen. "Morning honey."

"Where's dad?"

"He had to go into the office early. I'm glad you're up early, I need to tell you about tonight."

"What's happening tonight?" Alanna smiled up at her mother as she placed a plate in front of her. Anne joined her daughter at the table.

"Well tonight your dad has a business dinner in Tampa. I need to go with him and we'll be staying overnight."

Alanna laughed at her mother's face, a mask of worry. "Mom it's fine. I've already told you not to rearrange your life for me. You go have fun."

Anne looked relieved. "Thank you sweetie. Oh your brother is staying at Tommy's so you don't have to worry about him."

"'kay," Alanna said between mouthfuls of food.

"How's the foot this morning?"

"It's fine thanks."

"Good. Well I've got to go. I guess I'll see you tomorrow."

Alanna kissed her mother goodbye. "See you tomorrow mom."

She listened as the front door closed. "Now what am I going to do?"

Alanna was sitting watching the television when the phone rang. "Hello?"

"Hi can I speak to Alanna please?"

"This is she." She settled back onto the sofa.

"Oh hey, it's JC. I thought it was you but I thought I'd make sure. So I was just ringing to see how your foot was this morning."

"It's fine thank you. The person who bandaged me up did a pretty good job," she joked.

"Yeah if this singing gig doesn't work out I may have another career option on my hands," he laughed.

"So how do you have my number?"

"I asked Lance. I hope you don't mind, I just wanted to see how you were."

"No it's fine. Thank you for caring. To tell you the truth your call was a Godsend. I've been watching talk shows for 2 hours now."

JC laughed. "Things that bad huh?"

"Yeah my parents have gone out of town, my brother is staying with his friend and Ashlyn has done a disappearing act on me."

"Well if you're that bored you could come hang out with me. I've got nothing to do either."

"I don't wanna put you out JC."

"No really it'll be good to have some company."

"Okay sure, if you don't mind then that would be great," she smiled.

An hour later Alanna was knocking on JC's door, JC having already left the gate open for her.

The door opened. "Hey come in." A smiling JC stood at the door dressed in a tight white t-shirt and jeans. His hair was wet, having probably just showered.

"Hi JC," she greeted entering the house. She looked around at the interior, it looked very homely. Most guys his age would have the bachelor pad look happening. It was also surprisingly tidy.

JC noticed her eyeing everything closely. "My mom came down and helped me pick everything out and I guess I haven’t been home long enough to wreck the place."

Alanna smiled up at him. "You have a beautiful house JC."

"Thank you. I ordered some pizza for lunch, I hope that's okay."

"Yeah that's great."

"I'll just go get us some drinks. Make yourself comfortable."

As JC left for the kitchen Alanna took the opportunity to look at the collection of photos by the fireplace. Photos of the groups and of what she assumed was his family took pride of place. She noticed a photo of him and a very short Justin.

"Here you go."

She accepted the coke handed to her. Alanna motioned to the photo. "How old was Justin here?"

"Oh man he must have been around 12 or something," he laughed.

"What was he like back then?"

"A little show off."

"Just like now then?" she laughed.

"Haha got it in one."

(Later that night)

"I'm exhausted," JC sighed resting his head on Alanna's lap.

"From what exactly? All we've done is eat and watch movies."

"Well it makes you tired being lazy," he pouted.

"Aww poor JC."

"So what do you wanna do now?" he asked.

"Dunno...hey wanna hear what Ashlyn told me?” she asked excitedly.

"Go on then."

"Promise not to tell anyone?"

"Promise." With his finger he performed the childlike tradition of drawing an imaginary cross on his chest.

"Okay she was in Justin's room, don't ask why I have no idea. Anyway she was searching through his suitcase and she found something. Did you know he has boxers with hearts on?" Alanna laughed.

"He does?" JC muttered.

Alanna curiously looked at him. "Yeah he does...wait a minute, you do too don't you," she laughed.

"No I don't," he denied furiously.

"You do, oh God what is it with you guys? Is it an ‘N SYNC thing?" she joked.

"Alanna I don't!"

"We'll see about that." She jumped off the couch making JC's head hit the cushions.

"What are you doing?" he asked sitting up.

Alanna smirked. "I'm going to find out," she announced as she made for the stairs.

JC jumped up. "Alanna!"

Alanna just laughed and ran up the stairs as fast as she could. She stopped when she reached the top; not knowing which room was JC's.

Turning her head she noticed JC was hot on her trail. Giggling she ran to the first room. It appeared to be a guestroom. Next she came across a bathroom. Alanna glanced back realising JC had reached the top of the stairs. She turned back around and noticed a door slightly ajar at the end of the hall. Taking her chances she made her way for it.

"Alanna come back here."

Hearing JC's voice once again she figured she had the right room. Reaching the door she pushed it open and turned around smiling at JC as he approached. "So where do you keep 'em?"

JC stood with his hands on hips. "I told you already, you're not going to find anything."

"I believe you," she sighed.

JC visibly relaxed.

"NOT!" She giggled as she ran to the chest of drawers and pulled them open one at a time.

JC reacted slowly. Alanna found his underwear drawer and quickly rummaged around and there at the back she found what she was looking for.

She turned around and held them up. "And what do we have here?" she asked raising her eyebrows in question.

JC turned red. "I don't wear them, Joey bought us them for a joke."

"Uh huh I believe you." She ran around his bed holding them in the air. "What would your fans say?" she teased. The shy Alanna had suddenly disappeared and she was taking this as far as she could.

"Alanna give them back." He followed her around the bed.

"I don't think so."

"Alanna," he warned.

Noticing she was trapped she laughed and hopped up on the bed. Standing in the centre she just laughed.

JC sighed and tried to grab them from her managing to knock them both down. "I'm sorry. Are you okay?" asked JC, having landed heavily on top of her.

Alanna looked up. "Yeah I'm...I'm fine," she whispered looking at JC.

JC raised himself up slightly on his arms intending to take some of his weight off of her. This only brought him up to meet her eyes. JC looked down at her, long hair surrounding her face. Slowly he brought his lips down to meet hers.

Alanna was shocked as his lips touched hers but she quickly recovered and responded to the gentle probing.

JC drew back and turned his head. "I'm sorry," he apologised breathlessly.

"It's okay," a disappointed Alanna responded.

JC turned his gaze back to see if she was indeed okay. He found her still gazing up at him, her swollen lips slightly parted. JC couldn't help himself. He closed the gap once again. Gone was the slow, gentle kisses, being replaced by the passion that overwhelmed them both.

Alanna wrapped her arms around his neck trying to pull him even closer. She ran her hands up the back of his neck, feeling him shudder beneath her touch, and then through his hair.

JC ran his hands down the side of her face before making his way down the side of her body. He slid his hand under her before rolling them both over.

Alanna straddled JC's waist not breaking their kiss. She felt his arms encircle her waist bringing her closer, pressing her body against his chest.

JC broke away from her lips, instead placing butterfly kisses on her neck. Alanna gasped as she felt the lips replaced by his tongue. Not being able to stand it she pulled his head away from her neck so she could once again feel his lips on hers.

Alanna suddenly felt JC's hand lift the fabric of her shirt and his warm hand was on her skin.

Alanna froze. "JC..."
