All eyes turned to JC as the sound of his phone rang throughout the conference room.
He grinned sheepishly. “I…I guess I forgot to turn it off.” He took the offending object out of his jacket intending to turn it off when it stopped of it’s own accord. Before he had the chance to switch it off it sounded again.
Johnny sighed. “JC why don’t you just go outside and take that.”
JC stood up, pushing his chair back. “Thanks Johnny, I’ll just be a minute.”
As the door shut behind him he glanced at the caller ID before answering. “Hey Alanna. What’s up ‘cause I’m kinda in the middle of a meeting about the tour and as much as I appreciate the interruption I don’t think Johnny feels the same way.”
He heard her sniffle and it took her a moment to respond. “I’m sorry for interrupting, I’ll let you go,” she said quietly.
JC’s forehead creased, as he grew worried. “Alanna what is it? What’s wrong?”
She was silent for a moment before she took a shaky breath. “She left JC.”
“What? Who left?” he asked in confusion.
He heard her muffled sob. “Ashlyn. We had this huge fight. I said some things I didn’t mean and she left.”
The two were practically joined at the hip and he knew something major must have happened for her to leave. “Where’s she gone?”
“I don’t know. The other dancers flew home today too. I’m stuck in the middle of Germany on my own JC. I hate this!”
JC looked up and down the hall feeling helpless. As much as he wanted to hop on a plane and comfort her he knew it was impossible. There was only so much he could do over the phone but that was going to have to do this time.
“I’ve had enough JC. I wanna come home,” she whispered. “I wanna come home.”
