********DECEMBER 30th 1997*********
The Foss’s, the Lacey’s, the Hanson’s, and my family were all standing around the Hanson’s big white van over-flowing with bags. All of the mother’s were crying hysterically.
“Sweetie, be careful,” My mom said hugging me.
“I will I promise!” I said.
“Zacko- don’t let anything happen to Jen,” Mike said giving him a high-five.
“I promise dude,” Zac smiled.
“Zac, I’ll be sure not to tell anyone about US,” Claire said.
Zac just rolled his eyes.
“Jordan, if you hurt her I will sue,” Mrs. Foss threatened.
“Susan, I’m sure she’ll be fine,” Mrs. Hanson said.
“Isaac, thank you for taking Carolyn on this –
I know she’ll have fun,” Mr. Lacey said.
“Ashly,” My dad said taking my head and pulling it towards his like I was a football player.
“Yeah coach?” I asked.
“Play hard- and take care,” My dad smiled at me.
“Thanks,” I smiled. He kissed me on the cheek and hugged me.
“Carolyn take lot’s of pictures,” Claire said hugging her older sister.
“Okay,” Carolyn laughed.
“Okay, we’ve got to go!” Mr. Walker announced.
“Oh boys, I’ll see you soon enough- I love you!” Ms. Diana said hugging each one.
“Bye Mom,” Tay said.
“Love you Mom,” Zac said.
“I’ll miss you mom.” Ike said.
“Hang tough girl,” Brandon warned me.
“I’ll write you- I PROMISE!” I smiled.
“You know it!” He smiled.
“BYE SWEETHEART!” My mom sobbed as we got into the van.
“All accounted for?” Mr. Walker said looking behind him as he got into the van.
“Yes, sir!” Zac said in a deep voice saluting his dad.
“Good work soldier!” Mr. Walker laughed. He was probably closest to Zac out of all of his kids.
We drove out of the driveway and I took one last long look at our Tulsa block. I wouldn’t see it for at least 5-7 months.
“Don’t worry,” Taylor said putting his arm around me.
I looked up at him.
“It’ll be fine,” He assured me.
