“I’m here I’m here,” Jessica replied running down the steps and taking a seat.
“Zac back yet?” Taylor asked sitting down.
“I heard he went to a girl’s house…” Avery said trying to start what happened yesterday.
“Oh no…we aren’t starting THAT again,” Diana replied putting lasagna on the table.
Avery stuck on a pouting lip.
“Let’s just start dinner please, I’m so hungry,” Jessica whined.
“I guess so,” Walker replied.
“Maybe we should call his cell phone?” Diana suggested.
“Mom, no one takes a cell phone with them when they take a walk,” Ike replied.
“He’ll be back,” Taylor assured her.
“Alright then, I guess we can start without him,” Diana held out her hands for prayer looking with pity at the empty seat of Zac’s.

Zac walked past his neighborhood and walked along the sidewalk on a busier road, he heard girls- laughing – LOTS of girls, he peered down the road to see a bunch of them in bathing suits at the gas station.
“HEY ZAC!” Someone shouted across the street. Zac turned to see Amy Spade, and groaned. Katie Lotman, Amy Spade, and Jamie Courts…those annoying family friends and sorry excuses for “girlfriends” and sadly- they were all best friends.
“Hi Amy,” Zac waved as Amy ran across the street to meet him, her blond hair wildly going everywhere.
“Are you coming to see us at the carwash?” She asked hugging him…almost squeezing him. It clicked in Zac’s head – freshman- his friends- carwash- bikinis- single girls…
“Of course,” Zac smiled as Amy started let go of him.
Her bright blue eyes stared up wildly at him, “REALLY!?”
“Of course Amy,” Zac smiled.
“No hard feelings that I dumped you right?” Amy asked.
“No hard feelings- I was so busy at the studio anyway…” Zac replied. Amy dropped her carwash signs and bent over to pick them up.
“Isn’t it a little dangerous to be on this road alone…in a bikini?” Zac scratched his head.
“Yeah, Jamie was with me – but she went up to make another sign,” Amy shrugged, “Come on- we have sooo many people you should meet!” Amy grabbed his hand and ran up the street with him to the gas station where their were about 15-20 girls.
“Working at the car wash…” A green eyed dirty blond haired Kyle Henderson danced up to where Zac and Amy were.
“Zac! Dude, what’s up? Long time no see!” Kyle gave said a hand shake. Oh the ego of freshman these days…
“How’s it going Kyle?” Zac said half paying attention- his eyes were on the swarming girls in bikinis washing cars.
“Amy beautiful how was the sign holding going?” Kyle laughed.
“I didn’t get picked up yet,” Amy shrugged laughing. Oh the perverted minds of freshman these days…
“ZAC!” Two girls yelled and ran over to him. Zac rolled his eyes and held back the groan he wanted to let out. Katie and Jamie.
“Come meet our friends!” Katie and Jamie pulled Zac over to a group of girls in string bikinis throwing bubbles and washing car windows. Zac smiled and waved as he met each girl that whether they blushed on gushed.
“Hey Caitlyn!” Jamie yelled dragging Zac over to a girl bent down coloring a poster. She didn’t bother to look up, Zac figured this Caitlyn girl probably Jamie annoying also. “Caitlyn you NEED to meet our friend,” Jamie gushed. Zac was nervous for this girl to look up, the way Jamie was acting it seemed like when she did look up she would scream and attack him.
The girl glanced up at Zac’s shirt and then back down at the poster, “What’s up Superman?” Caitlyn asked as she took the cap of a huge red marker and started coloring in letters. At first Zac was confused, then he glanced down at his blue shirt and realized that the superman symbol was on it.
“Well geez, that was rude,” Katie replied.
Caitlyn sighed and put the cap back on her marker- yup, they annoyed her.
“I’m sorry Katie,” She stood up and brushed off the khaki shorts she had on. She must have been the only one who hadn’t stripped down to her bikini yet. Caitlyn sighed and looked up to meet eyes with Zac.
“I’m Caitlyn White,” She stuck out a hand and gave a weak smile.
“Zac Hanson,” Zac reluctantly shook her hand. Caitlyn had straight light brown hair with deep blue eyes, they were pretty but didn’t sparkle like Lynn’s did. She didn’t look very happy, in fact – she looked kind of stressed. It didn’t look like she got much sleep.
“ZAC! Come on! You have to meet the others,” Jamie’s dark hair bobbed up and down as she walked dragging him to the other girls washing cars.
“Nice meeting you,” Caitlyn said half heartedly as Jamie and Katie had rushed him away.
“How’s the sign coming Caitlyn?” The cheerleading coach, Mrs. Freedman asked approaching Caitlyn.
“It’s almost done,” Caitlyn gave her a small smile.
“Good,” Mrs. Freedman smiled sitting down across from her. Mrs. Stacey Freedman – known as Coach Stacey to the squad. The Freshman Cheerleading Squad’s Coach for Nathan Hale High School, the purpose of the car wash was for the squad’s new uniforms. They had a big regional competition again Union High School – the defending champions in the next two weeks. Caitlyn White was one of the strongest members of the squad. Cheerleading caption.
“So are you ready to beat Union?” Coach Stacey smiled, there was something deeper to Caitlyn than she could ever figure.
“Yeah,” Caitlyn smiled for real this time.
“Good,” Coach Stacey patted her on the back and got up feeling her work was done.
