The Whole Story
Despite not getting the department I originally wanted, I soon found out that it was a blessing in disguise. The people in my department were really friendly and easy to talk to, and my fellow interns were just the best people to intern with, ever. We worked well together, and had fun at the same time, and I think that's what made it such an enjoyable experience.
Through them, I met so many other interns, who soon became my regular lunch gang and email spamming buddies. And this was what made work something so much more than just a mundane thing - the randomness and jokes we cracked among ourselves, the stories we created, they were all things that made everyday different and interesting. :)
Over the two months, I've learned - not alot, but enough. We didn't do much other than research and put together information, but it's really opened my eyes to what working life could be like. I've learned that urgent requests could come in at 10am and you're expected to get it done by 3pm that same day, and the amount of research, reading and downloading on the pathetically slow internet here can kill. I've learned that not everything can be done, but everything can be reasoned, so I shouldn't be afraid to say it. I've learned that to be able to let go is a skill I must acquire. And above all, I've learned that people skills are crucial and it's the people that make all the difference.
Little things like my addiction to white coffee in the mornings, Facebook-ing in the precious 2-5 minutes before 8.30am every day, KAP alerts each morning, making Google my best friend, refreshing my email inbox every 2 seconds, counting down to lunch break and 5.30pm haha, curry puff mornings and interview days, Friday morning kuihs, and the ringing of the phone have become the way of life for me for the past two months... and I wouldn't have had it any other way. :)
Events
Bedazzled Event [09.01.2009]
I think the main reasons we went for this event were because 1) We were invited, and 2) There was free food. Haha. :)
Su Zhen and I with a bowl of ais kacang.
Clockwise top L-R: Lance, Soo Ann, Wan Mit, Edward, Han Min, me, Su Zhen

Intern Reception [16.01.2009]
We were a little late for this, because we had some last minute work to finish before we could rush off for this event. The funniest thing that day was, Su Zhen and I had dressed almost identically and even when we were given those sticker name tags, we both stuck them on the right side of our waist without knowing the other did the same, turned around and was like "Oik?!" Hahah. Cool eh! :p
"Great minds think alike!"
When we went in, our whole group was already there. So we began taking pictures while waiting for the event to begin.
Y-Han showing us how some people just never grow up. Haha.

We sat at one side of the room, and were probably the noisiest group there. We brought the life to the party. Haha. :p
It was fun watching some of them present. Alfred even made us help him act in his video, so we all were keh-leh-fehs for the day, whose names all appeared in the credits and we were like "Omg!" o.O
But yeah haha it was super fun making the video. It was even fun-er watching my friends act hahaha. Alfred was so into his presentation that at one point he snapped his fingers to signal Wan Mit to change slides, which made the whole room burst out in laughter and he blurly asked, "What did I do?". Hehe.
Pretib being scarily formal and looking like a rap artist in this picture. Hahah.

CNY/Farewell Department Lunch [22.01.2009]
Had a CNY/farewell lunch for Y-Han and I the other day. Our boss catered Nyonya food and the best damn cendol ever (Malacca cendol rocks so much better than Penang cendol).
Mee siam.
Then towards the end, we each took two fortune cookies. This is what Y-Han got:
We had a good laugh over these. Haha.
The first one was priceless, and Y-Han kept denying it hahah.
Must be his niece. Hahaha.
It was a fun time, with lots of laughter and crappiness. Alot of other jokes about Sean and Han Min fighting for the affection of the new girl intern, what with Sean getting a fortune that read "Someone loving, affectionate (etc etc) will come your way" and Han Min's reading "You are a very skillful person". Hehe.
The whole department.
Lou Sang Dinner [23.01.2009]
Went there directly after work. The whole day I kept telling Y-Han that he was cute, handsome, sexy, etc in hopes that he would fetch me to dinner. Haha.
Fun dinner, with lots of laughs and jokes as usual. Lou sang-ed. Wanted to make a toast, half stood up, then the rest stood up at the same moment the first half sat back down, then everyone sat down, then everyone stood back up. Hahaha. Funny people.
The whole group.
