Chapter 5
"Cathy?" Irene sighed. "Ok, lemme talk to her. Cathy? Hi honey. The show? It was great, excellent even. You want to talk to Jessie? Are you sure? Well, Cathy, ok look, we've been friends since kindergarten, right? I was your alibi for prom night, right? I covered for you when your parents were looking for you and you spent the night with that quaterback who turned into and octopus, right? NO I do NOT only bring that up when I feel guilty!! Ok, honey, look, Jessie, uh, she, she fainted! It wasn't my fault...AJ did it!!"
AJ paled at hearing his name.
"Yes, that AJ, but stop asking about them, I gotta tell you about your kid! Yes all of the guys are here. Where are we...uh...we're backstage...Cathy stop squealing!!"
"She's squealing...that's a good thing, right?" Nick asked.
Irene shrugged. "What do you mean of course she fainted?! I don't have kids. What the hell do I know?"
There was a moan from the couch and everyone turned to see Jessica trying to sit up. "Did you get the number of that chair? Ow. That's gonna leave a bruise."
"Jessie! Oh baby! Your mom's on the phone. She wants to talk to you!"
"Aunt Irene? It'll be easier to talk to my mom if you stop hugging me so hard. I can't breathe."
"Sorry Baby." Irene grinned like the Cheshire cat.
Jessie smiled as she took the phone from her aunt. "Hey Mom. Yea the guys are here. Yes, We're backstage." Jessie laughed "Yes the family sense of non direction is still intact. I was trying to find the bathroom and...well, i'll tell you when I get home. Everyone is looking at me like I have a growth on my forehead...oh wait...I do. Yea, we'll be on our way soon. Love you too." Jessica laughed again "Yes ma'am I'll tell her, see ya. Bye"
As soon as Jessie hung up the cell, Irene grabbed her in a rib breaking hug, again. "Oh sweetie! Are you ok? Don't you ever scare me like that again!"
"Aunt Irene, My mom said to say 'Shaun Cassidy' and that would explain what just happened to me. Does that make sense to you?
Six pairs of eyes gazed at Irene while she blushed furiously.
"Uh...Jessie, we need to get out of the way. These young men have things to do and we shouldn't bother them any more than we already have."
