Chapter 12

I stare at the people surrounding me. The people who love me.

I can't believe Dianna and my mother have finally met. I really wish I'd seen that. I'd love to know what they said to each other. What Di told mom about us. That should have been interesting. 

I also can't wait to find out why she had to have her friends here. My 'brothers' did something. I know they love me but sometimes they are more protective than I could ever be!

This 'gag' rule Di has me on is insufferable. If I make any sound that sounds like a word, she'll leave. I know she'd come back, but my mind can't handle the idea that maybe she wouldn't. It could be the out that she needs. 

"Do you need anything else, Kev?" Nick asked me.

I didn't need anything. I had enough water and ice. My God! They must have emptied an ocean.

I shook my head no. I took all my energy to not say 'no thanks' to him. 

There was tension between him, the others and Dianna and her friends. I wouldn't find out anything not being able to talk, though. 

Right on queue my doctor came in.

"Ah Mr. Richardson, I see you're awake. I'm Dr. Jeff Altman. I'm going take a look at you, as soon as we can get your family and friends out, and we'll see what's going on, ok?"

I nodded.

He ushered everyone out, but not without trouble. Mom and Dianna were the worst.

"He's my son and there's nothing on his body that I haven't seen AND cleaned!" She
