New York, NY— Gorgeous rock/pop singer Amanda Latona has already amassed thousands of fans and inspired over 1500 websites in her honor. Her rising star has already dazzled press outlets ranging from Popstar to W Magazine to the New York Times Magazine who is chronicling the journey of her debut. YM magazine has selected Amanda as the musical artist on the "YM Fashion & Music Explosion Tour, sponsored by JCPenney" this summer. And now, since signing to J Records last year, this beautiful and talented artist is set to make her solo debut with single "Can't Take It Back" on July 22nd. The up-tempo track, co-written by Taylor Rhodes (Aerosmith's #1 Cryin' and more) and Meredith Brooks, perfectly encapsulates Amanda's strong spirit and stellar vocal ability. Lyrically, the song demonstrates a theme of confidence and independence for women everywhere.

The "YM Fashion & Music Explosion Tour, sponsored by JCPenney" will take Amanda through five cities where she will perform three songs including "Can't Take it Back, "I Quit" and her remake of Joan Jett's rock anthem "Hate Myself for Loving You." All three tracks will appear on Amanda's debut album set for release in early 2003.

The film community is embracing Amanda's music as well. "Can't Take It Back" will appear in the teen comedy, "Slap Her, She's French," premiering August 30th. The film stars Piper Perabo (Coyote Ugly) and Jane McGregor who plays the most popular girl on campus whose status is jeopardized by the seemingly innocent but manipulative French exchange student (Perabo) who moves in with her and takes over her life.

So who is this girl and why does she already have fans? Actually, the stunning, dark haired, blue-eyed Amanda Latona has been preparing for her major label debut her entire life. As a young girl, the Pittsburgh native moved to Orlando to pursue a career in music. The move proved fruitful quickly as Amanda scored major performance gigs at Disney in roles such as Snow White. Inevitably and as expected, Amanda found her way into the booming Orlando pop scene where she became a part of girl group Innocense. After a short period of time, Amanda – who did not feel akin to the five-part R&B pop scene - decided to leave the group to pursue a solo career as a rock/pop artist. In the years that followed, Amanda appeared in videos such as *NSYNC's "I Want You Back" and appeared on MTV's Cribs when the camera crew ventured over to Backstreet Boy AJ McLean's house (she was a frequent guest). Amanda was always super-accommodating to BSB fans, and they appreciated her good-natured demeanor, which earned her even more fans. In 2001, Amanda got her big break when she met and sang for J Records Chairman and CEO, Clive Davis. Amanda's voice, radiant smile and self-led style captured his attention and Amanda was signed within 24 hours of their meeting.
