3 WORLDS APART Chapter 1 Colleen's View
"Oh yeah, oh yeah! I won, I won!" shouted Nick in a singsong voice.
"Shut your mouth Nicky! Who won the last 3 games?" Brian asked, throwing a pillow at Nick.
"Ummm me?" he said, giving a devilish grin.
"Nope! Guess again genius!" I replied, giggling.
It was a HOT Sunday afternoon and Brian, Nick, and I had decided to spend the day at Brian's, in his cool air-conditioned house. This was our fourth game of Monopoly, and Brian had won every single game, until Nick cheated and beat him out for the win. And let me tell you, Nick is the SOREST WINNER! He had been jumping up and down for the past 10 minutes. He was making me dizzy!
"Hey, you guys wanna soda?" I asked, jumping up from the couch and heading to the kitchen.
"Yeah! Thanks Col." Brian and Nick shouted in unison. They sounded like robots.
Well, let me explain a little bit about myself. Where do I begin? My name is Colleen Forrester, and I'm the big 2-0! I live in Orlando, Florida but I'm originally from Lexington, Kentucky. Ok…here comes the weird part: I'm friends with Brian Littrell and Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys. Actually, not just friends…best friends. I met Brian in junior high school, and we have been friends ever since. We're basically the same, and I think that's why we get along so well. He's funny, smart, and very friendly…just like me! In senior year of high school, Brian was pulled out of our oh-so-interesting history class. (You're probably wondering how I could've possibly been in the same year of high school as Brian…he IS 5 years older than me. Well, lets just say that I'm pretty damn smart, and I skipped "a few" grades. That's how I ended up in Brian's senior class.) Anyway, he was sent to Orlando, and became a Backstreet Boy. How did I end up in Orlando? Once Brian got to Orlando, I was the first person he called. He told me all about his new gig, and of course I was extremely happy for him, but I was going to miss him SO much. Well, to make a long story short, after I finished high school I moved to Orlando to be with Brian. I lived with him in his new house for awhile, but about 3 years ago I got my own place. Brian set me up with a job right away. I actually help set up their interviews, concert promotions, etc. I've even co-written a few songs with Brian for their old albums and "Millennium." I get to see Brian atleast once a day, and our friendship has never been stronger. Now the Backstreet Boys are the most successful group of the new Millennium, and I've been there every step of the way.
How did Nick come into my life? As you all know, Nick IS a Backstreet Boy. I was introduced to Nick, and the rest of the guys, through Brian. I really clicked with Nick because he's my age and we went through a lot of the same stuff together. (You know: girls/guys, break-ups, puberty…) So I guess you could say Nick was my other best friend. I just can't imagine my life without them in it. They both know my deepest secrets, and I trust them 100%. When I moved to Orlando, I brought my friend, Sophia, along. We all call her Cefi. She has had a huge crush on Kevin Richardson for as long as I can remember. But figure this out: she is dating AJ McLean. Kevin really didn't have the same feelings for Cefi…he was and still is drooling over Elyse, a dancer for the Backstreet Boys. He's never really told her how he feels, so she has NO idea. Although Sophia still has a school-girl crush on Kevin, she is head-over-heels in love with AJ. I think the strangest situation of all would be that of Howie and Marietta. Marietta is Howie's #1 fan…so she says. She met him backstage at a BSB concert, and they have been dating ever since. Here comes the strange part: Howie really doesn't like her, but everytime Howie tries to break up with her…she cries hysterically. Being the sentimental guy he is, he feels bad and ends up staying with her. Marietta is a nice girl and all, but she had her last name legally changed to Dorough, and I think that is just way too obsessive.
I'm single, but I don't mind…much! Nick and Bri are also single, but there are many times when they abandon me on Saturday nights to go clubbing to meet women. They both have trouble meeting girls, because they have to be VERY careful about who they choose to trust and date. You would think finding the right girl would be simple for them…but it's not! Therefore, they are both very much single.
"Col! I'm dying of dehydration in here!" I heard Nick shout from the living room.
"Ok! Hold your horses! I'm coming!"
I grabbed the 3 cans of Coke from the counter, and walked back into the living room.
"I say we play one more game." Nick said, gulping down his coke, "I feel lucky."
"Nooo." Brian and I groaned, "You said that about the last few games, and you lost every single one of them!"
"Yeah, but the last game I beat ya'll. So lets go again." He replied, setting up the cards and money.
"Oh great!" I laughed, "Another game of Nick's obvious cheating!"
