Dobhar-Chu is another name gived to the King Otter, a possible giant otter found in Ireland, from a perfect white with black ear-tips and a black cross on the back.

There are many reports from before the 21th century, but I will only put the younger-than-100-years-old one. So, in 1920, Richard Muirhead of Wiltshire, England discovered a poem called "The Dobhar-chu of Glenade." It tells the story of Grace Connolly, who was found dead by a lake along with her killer, a dobhar-chú. Her husband, named McGloughlan, killed the animal but soon found that he had to deal with the king otter's mate, which he killed near Castlegarden Hill.

This story is credible, because some gravestones were found, depicting the Dobhar-chu. To see a photo, go to the sources' link.

The problem with this cryptid and many other, is that all sightings are old and unrepeated in our century, what let me think about some kinds of legends and false stories.
