In the Amazone, another prehistoric survivor is said to live. This is the Mapinguari, a realted to the Giant Ground Sloth that were living in the pleistocene. They were really big: the Megatherium, the biggest member of the family, was 7 meters high when they were stand up like an human, and had gigantic claws. These creatures were related to actual Aïs. There were other species of Ground Sloth, but they were shorter. One of them, the Mylodon, was domesticated by the Guaranis, in Brasil and Patagonia. It was probably used for it's meat, milk, and maybe also probably maked some tasks like bulls were doing recently.

The surviving specie, if it really exist, is well known by the Amazonians tribes. Some proofs are sometime found, such as tracks, hairs (why don't to clone? For a rare time, clonage would have a good utility...), and excrements.

This creature is likely to be alive, but, how a big creature like this find a place for it in the Amazonian jungle?
