The lion, king of the jungle. What a royal animal, with it's yellowish fur and it's mane... But how about a speckled lion? Kikuyus natives in the Kenyan area name them Marozis. Many sightings are known, especially one where Michael Trent, a settler there once killed a couple of these speckled lions. The animal is also present in other places with mountains, and are known as ikimizi in Rwanda, ntararago in Uganda and abasambo in Ethiopia.

Some people try to explain this as a cross between lions and leopard, but the evidence shows that they're wrong. The 2 species avoid the others and in the case of a mating, the babies are sterile. The most possible thing is an unofficially discovered lion subspecie (or distinct specie, why not). The future will give us the answer...
