AON
Diagram
The
arrow diagram represents the interdependencies and precedence
relationships among the activities of the project. An arrow is commonly
used to represent an activity, with its head indicating the direction of
progress in the project. Using events specifies the precedence
relationship between the activities. An event represents a point in time
that signifies the completion of some activities and the beginning of new
ones. The beginning and end points of an activity are thus described by
two events usually known as the activities terminating at the same event
have been completed.
In
network theory terminology, a directed arc represents each activity and a
node represents each event. The length of the arc need not be proportional
to the duration of the activity nor does it have to be drawn as a straight
line.
