The Life of Yamacha

By: Celey

Gone and A Visit

Yamacha ran his fingers through his hair, nervously. Bulma and Puar had been in there for hours. Sweat began trickling down Yamacha's head. He was really worried about Puar.

'Please.. please... please let her be okay,' he thought.

Suddenly, he heard a loud clang and a crash. Then, there was silence. Yamacha wondered what happened. He blinked.

'.......... Where is Puar's ki?' he thought.

He could feel Bulma's ki, but he couldn't feel Puar's. He gulped and felt his hands get shaky.

'Where is Puar's ki?! Where's Puar's ki?!' he thought over and over again.

Yamacha immediately panicked. His heart began beating faster and faster. The door to Bulma's lab clicked open. Bulma walked out, her eyes casted to the floor.

"W-w-what happened to P-p-p-puar?" Yamacha choked out.

Bulma sighed and took in a deep breath.

"Puar had a really rare disease that is currently incurable... I tried everything I could to keep her alive.. I tried..," she explained.

Yamacha didn't say anything.

"Puar is gone...," Bulma finished.

Yamacha developed a painful ache in his chest. He could feel tears beginning to well up in his eyes, but he wasn't going to cry. He was not going to cry in front of Bulma. Instead, he clenched his fists and glared at Bulma. He punched a hole in the wall next to her. Bulma jumped. Yamacha growled for a moment and then reminded himself that hurting someone wouldn't solve anything. He jumped up and exited Capsule Corp. through the roof. He flew to his house and landed in the yard. Surprisingly, his house was on fire. The stove had been left on and apparently a fire spread. Yamacha let tears fall from his eyes, freely. He glared at the house.

"Well... I guess if my house is going to go in flames.. then perhaps I should to," he murmured to himself.

He began powering up, rapidly. If one powers up too much it could actually kill them...

Yamacha was close. He began powering up more, ignoring the pain surging through his body. Ignoring that strange voice in his head that was telling him to stop. Then, he heard something that didn't come from inside his head.

"Wait," a voice said aloud.

Yamacha abruptly stopped powering up. The voice was familiar, yet he couldn't quite place who it belonged to. He turned around. The voice belonged to Baba. Yamacha narrowed his eyes.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"Killing yourself will not help anything. There is something really nice that will happen to you in the future, but first I must explain about the past that you have forgotten and what you need to do in order to acquire all the nice things that will happen to you in the future," Baba responded.

Yamacha sat down.

"I'm listening," he stated, simply.

Baba grinned and then frowned. She began telling Yamacha about way, way, way back when an evil witch ruled the world by controlling all the beasts and monsters.

".. What does this have to do with me?" Yamacha interrupted.

"Shhh.. it has everything to do with you! Now, be quiet and let me continue," Baba replied.

Yamacha sighed and nodded. Baba started talking about how a little boy with two souls broke the evil witch's control over the beasts and monsters of the world.

"If the boy hadn't have stopped her, she would have eventually gotten enough power to control humans' minds and after that she would've gained control over other planet's inhabititants until finally she ruled the entire universe," Baba explained.

"I still don't see what this has to do with me," Yamacha muttered.

"Quiet.. I'm not finished," Baba told him.

Baba went on about how the little boy grew up to become a very fine ruler of the world, how he got married, and had a son of his own. Then, she went on about how the evil witch cursed him and his son and how the curse will happen to every generation in the family. She told Yamacha about how eventually down the line, people no longer viewed the family fit as rulers of the world and kicked them out. That's when she got to the part about how Yamacha was a descendant of the family.

"ME?! MY ANCESTORS ONCE RULED THE WORLD?! I HAVE TWO SOULS?! I'M CURSED?!" Yamacha screamed.

"Yes, yes, yes.. I'm still not finished, yet," Baba mumbled.

Yamacha closed his mouth and began listening to Baba again. Baba told him about what his life was like before he forgot and she told him about the origin of the Wolf Fang Fist technique. Yamacha stared at Baba.

"Yamacha, have you ever heard a voice in your head.. that was not your own or any of your friend's?" Baba inquired.

He stopped for a moment and began thinking.

"..... Yes....," he answered.

"That is your other soul speaking to you. So, in a way, you have two kis. Except your other soul keeps his hidden. If you could find a way to bring out his power and keep yours out and combine them, you'd be way stronger than any level of Super Saiyan and the fusions," Baba told him.

Yamacha's eyes widened. He shook his head and then began pondering something.

"Baba.. is there a way to break the curse I have?" he queried.

"Yes," Baba responded.

"Tell me..," Yamacha urged.

"You have to go into space.. find someone.. find someone who knows about the Mystic Well. The Mystic Well, once drank from, has the power to cure your body of all curses and heal any physical wounds you may have at the time. I do not know the exact location of the well. But it does not exist here.. it is on another planet...," Baba explained.

"Then.. I guess I'll go to space," Yamacha declared, standing up.

"How are you going to get there?" Baba asked, with an amused expression on her face.

Baba already knew how he was going to get there. She already knew that he was going to be cured and that many different things were going to happen to him. Nobody said she couldn't have a little fun and pretend she didn't know, though.

"Well.. I'll.. hmm..," Yamacha started.

He was going to say that he would go to Bulma's and ask her for a spaceship, but, then he remembered that Puar had died there. A wave of sadness overtook him for a moment. Baba frowned.

"Contact Dr. Briefs by phone. He'll help you out. You don't have to go over there. He'll go over here and bring you the spaceship," she mumbled.

"Okay.. thank you.. umm.. do you have a phone I can borrow?" Yamacha said, pointing to his burning down house.

Baba lifted her hat up and took out a cell phone. She gave it to Yamacha.

"Thanks, again," he stated.

He began dialing Dr. Briefs number. Baba smiled and floated off on her crystal ball, her good deed for the day had been done.
