Videl was gone...forever. He couldn't believe it, even many weeks after she died. Everything had gone so fast... He didn't even remember how it all began. He just remembered her being sick for many months. Her health wasn't too good since Pan's birth, but it had never been that bad. She had high fever for weeks, but after a month, it's like if she had gave up. She had stop eating, she had stop smiling. She had gave up the fight, and whatever he'd do would never change what hapenned. She was gone...
Now, the only thing he had was Pan, his little Pan, and she was sick too. Not long after her mother died, she had started to be sick with the same disease her mother suffered from.
Every nights and days, Gohan would stay beside his daughter, crying over her. He knew he couldn't do anything to help her. He hated that.
They had just came back from the hospital that night, and Pan wasn't getting any better. The doctor kept saying she was strong, that she could support the disease, but so was her mother. She was delusional most of the time. She acted like if she was seeing her mother, and he couldn't support it.
-Mommy, read me a story. Daddy wouldn't cause he's too tired. Please mommy.
Pan turned to her father, smiling.
-Mom's gonna read me a story daddy...
-Yeah, what story? he said, caressing softly her hair.
-Cinderella, her favorite story... she said.
Gohan's tears continued to roll on his cheeks. Everynight, Videl used to tell stories to their daughter and most of the time, she told her about Cinderella. He used to stand in the doorway, looking at "his women", as he called them.
-So, mom's reading you that story again.
-Shhh! Daddy, she whispered, I wanna hear the part she dances with the prince charming.
Gohan smiled to his daughter and as she fell asleep, he kissed her on the front, then closed the light. He stood up and went in the hallway. He put his back to the wall, breathing deeply. He was trying to control himself, but he just knew he was losing her too. He broke down in tears. Both hands on his face, he slowly went down the wall, until he was sitting on the floor.
-Please... no!

Gohan woke up, still sitting in the hallway. He immediatly stood up and ran to Pan's room. She was sitting in her bed, holding a book. She smiled to him and said:
-Mom told me I should read my own stories now.
He went to her and sat next to her on the bed.
-You don't know how to read yet Pan... he said, caressing her hair.
-I told her that, but she said you would teach me.
He smiled to his daughter, then softly kissed her on the forehead. He immedialty backed up, surprised. Her fever was gone, her front wasn't hot anymore. His eyes filled with tears of joy and he hold her close to him, kissing her over and over on the top of her hair.
-She said we'd have to stay together, since she's gone. She said she loved you, and that she's sorry she let go the fight. She says she'll always be there... Where did she go, daddy? Is she coming back?
He looked at her, surprised. A child couldn't imagine such things, a kid couldn't understand the meaning of such words. He started crying again, and hold her tighter.
-Aahh, mom's gone away, you know, grandma Chichi talked to you about that place, remember. She's not really coming back, in a way, but in another way, she'll never be gone. You remember about grandma's stories, about when she was dreaming of grandpa Goku? Well, mommy's gonna meet you in those kind of dreams.
She smiled to him, and said:
-I know, she told me too. She told me we would all be togheter.
He sadly smiled to her again, kissed her again.
-Well, let's start this. Once upon a time, in a far away kingdom, there was a girl named Cinderella...
