I was born and raised in the small Acadian community of Surette's Island,
in the county of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.
In the late 1950s I moved to Ottawa, Ontario, and began a federal government
career that spanned 37 years. Now retired, I devote much time to painting
at my home in Gatineau, Québec. A self-taught artist, I draw my inspiration from nature,
particularly from the shores of Nova Scotia and rural Québec.
I painted sporadically from 1979-1981, had showings in Ontario and Québec,
then concentrated on my federal career.
My travels throughout the world reinforced my appreciation for the medium,
and since retiring in 1995, I have resumed my passion and joined the Ottawa School of Art.
I have two showings per year in the Ottawa/Hull region.
My work presently hangs in Maine, New Hampshire, New York,
Virginia, California, Ontario, Québec, Nova Scotia and British Columbia.
