Patrick Roy holds the Conn Smythe Trophy
after being named MVP of the 1986 Stanley Cup
playoffs. In just his rookie year, he led the Habs
to the Stanley Cup four games to one over
the Calgary Flames.
Patrick Roy in 1990 with his second Vezina Trophy. He first won it in 1989, and
later claimed the Trophy again in 1992. Roy has also shared the William M. Jennings Trophy
wth other Montreal goalkeepers in 1987, 1988, 1989, 1992.
Patrick Roy led the Habs to the Stanley Cup in 1993. The Los Angeles Kings fell to
Les Canadiens 4-1.

During the December 2nd game against the Red Wings, Patrick Roy lost his temper and
began yelling at the fans.
When he was pulled from the game, Roy stormed up to team president Ronald Corey, who
was sitting behind the Habs bench, and informed Corey that he, Roy, had played his last
game in Montreal.
Roy faced the media on December 3 and apologized for his outburst, but remained
adamant that he had played his last game for Les Canadiens.
On December 6, Roy was traded with Mike Keane to the Colorado Avalanche for Jocelyn
Thibault, Martin Rucinsky and Andrei Kovalenko. He is shown here meeting the media in
Colorado.
Roy lost his first game for the Avalanche, a 5-3 decision to the Edmonton Oilers on
December 7 in Denver. He sat out the next game in Ottawa.
On December 10 in Toronto, Roy had a chance to catch up with former coach Pat Burns.
Roy sparkled in net December 11 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He stopped 28 of 29
shots on the way to a 5-1 Avalanche win.

February 6, 1999 . Roy, adding another chapter to his Hall-of-Fame career, posted
his 400th career win by helping the red-hot Colorado Avalanche smother the Red Wings, 3-1.
