The sleep village of Pallet Town is where your Pokémon adventure will begin. Your goal is to be recognized as the greatest Pokémon trainer in the world! At the same time, Profesor Oak's grandson, Gary, will do everything he can to thwart you and claim that honor for himself!

Getting Started
When your adventure begins, you'll be asked to choose names for yourself and your rival, Professor Oak's grandson. You may choose default names from the computer's list or make up two of your own. For this feature, I'll refer to your rival as "Gary," one of the default names. Now explore Pallet Town, being sure to visit Gary's house for a peek at the map on the wall . After you've talked to everyone, head north toward Route 1. Before you get very far, Prof Oak will appear and escort you to his lab. Once your there, he'll let you choose one of his Pokémon for your very own!
Your First Pokémon
Each Poké has its own strenghts and weaknesses, and choosing which one to take is really a matter of personal preference. I will say, however, that Bulbasaur will are the best against some of your early rivals. Before you leave Prof Oak's lab, Gary will challenge you and your Pokémon to your first duel. If you defeat him, you'll win some money. If your Pokémon faints, take it home to your mom for medical treatment.
Notes:
1. Which Pokémon you choose is up to you, but you'll need to adjust your battle and collecting strategy depending on which one you take.
2. Your first duel will be against Gary. If you win a duel with any Pokémon trainer, you'll take home bragging rights and a cash prize!
