With your Pokémon in tow, take Route 1 north to Viridian City. As you wander through the tall grass, wild Pokémon will challenge you. You won't be able to capture them just yet, but that's all right. Let your Pokémon fight a few battles to gain experiance. If your Pokémon is injured or faints, you can take it home or to the Pokémon Center in Viridian City.
Notes:
1. As you explore the countryside you'll meet with varios people. Some will give you clues and some will challenge you to duels!
2. You'll find wild Poké in grassy areas. If your Pokémon is weak, use the Run command to escape.
