| BRUSH WITH THE LAW PRIYANS (well, at least the batch of '92) were generally considered as honest law abiding citizens. So it might come as a surprise to know that the lodge had its share of differences of opinion with its close associates - the Kerala Police, for no fault of its own. It all began with rumours of harassment of junior Medicos by.......Priyans ! This proved a timely excuse for one Mr.Panicker & Co. to intrude on the lodge only to find a "young" man with a tilak-ed forehead, two shirtless Medicos in a congested room ( they abandoned PRIYA soon after ! ) and one tall man from Changanacherry who didn't want to march to the station as he had just flunked a couple of exams. But these men were luckier than a couple of others who were proud owners of airconditioned garments. It was a trying period for the Priyans who couldn't see through the policemen's bluff. Ultimately the intervention of a "local DGP" settled matters;the only fallout being the bulky Priyan who kept muttering "loodge,loodge..." and saluting every cop in sight. Another memorable event involved two relative outsiders - Hams n' Nath who took a fancy for one Priyan's shirt collar and had to face the unexpected wrath of the whole lot. Finally, he law enforcers had to be called in and all was well,except for the shirt. |
