1985 (six episodes)
1984 having already passed, Will Osborne and Richard Turner were compelled to look a little further ahead for this faintly Orwellian, but overtly comic, sitcom of futuristic life, complete with domestic robots. Robert Lindsay starred as Edward Wilson, an everyman who became embroiled in mysterious governmental machinations. Two years later a second series — which had now reached Nineteen Ninety Eight and was retitled accordingly — aired; Lindsay’s role was now taken by David Threlfall.
