The Cookbook of Apicius

Radio 4
1997 (six programmes)

Offbeat quarter-hour show in the Late Night Opening strand, providing cookery hints and tips as presented by an ancient Roman.  Real-life television cook Keith Floyd played the gourmet Apicius and Alan Francis his faithful scribe Felix, a Greek amongst Romans who was none too keen on the idea of skewered dormouse as a snack.  The series was written by Jim Miller.
