Peter Jones — a distinctive radio voice now best-known for his narration of The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy — wrote and recited this series of humorous theatrical monologues, for which he adopted the persona of J Kingston Platt, an unassuming grand old man given to reminiscing on his long and varied show-business career.  Platt’s countless credits included an unforgettable TV commercial in which he appeared as a teabag.
