Radio 4
1999 (six episodes)
Eccentric quarter-hour sitcom in which all the parts were played by the two writers, Mark McDonnell and Steven McNicoll. The setting was Victorian London, replete with fog, gaslamps and newspaper vendors hawking details of the latest “horrible grisly murders”, and the action focussed on Scots impresario Henry MacFlintock and his down-at-heel Palace of Varieties, home to a menagerie of inane showbusiness turns and a crew of variously deficient staff.
