This hugely popular BBC1 sitcom from the early eighties was actually planned, to begin with, as a radio show: a pilot was recorded in 1979, but never broadcast.  The series returned to its roots in 1997 when Radio 2 put out a selection of episodes, specially re-recorded for radio.  Several other popular sitcoms have been given the same treatment, including Shelley, One Foot In The Grave and As Time Goes By.
