Lucy Flannery’s durable domestic sitcom about a professional couple (Patrick Barlow and Barbara Flynn) who take in a couple of students (Toby Longworth and Diane-Louise Jordan — later Dave Lamb and Vivienne Rochester) as lodgers. Successive series (the second, third and fourth have helpfully been billed as ‘Rent Two’, etc, in the starting credits) have introduced a few developments: the students, Paul and Ruby, become engaged (to each other) and ultimately move out, while their erstwhile landlords discover new responsibilities, in the shape of an unexpected baby affectionately known as Piglet.
