Marius Brill’s comic mystery series had its origins in a one-off short play (Slaughter in the Dark) transmitted on Radio 4 as part of the Young Playwrights’ Festival in 1991.  Paul B Davies starred as Jack Dunroody, a blind detective with a Chandleresque delivery, and reprised the role several years later.  The series also featured Rebecca Front.
