Robert Smith wrote this series of quarter-hour shows in which Detective Sergeant Matrix (John Woodvine), out on a stakeout in which nothing ever seems to happen in the company of an unwilling fifteen-year-old on work experience (David Antrobus), narrates extremely unlikely stories of his life in the force.  Jan Winters appeared as the policewoman on the other end of Matrix’s radio.
