** reviews ** HIPPIES OF TODAY “s/t” 10” – Holla,
this new, french band seems to be heavily active at the moment!! First
they’re slapping us their unbelieveable split 7“ w/ THE INDEX (you’ll find
this this in the 7“-sector) right into the face and than they put out a 10“
which smashes at all „rules of art“. HIPPIES OF TODAY recorded this
selftitled 10“ and the tracks of the aforementioned split 7“ in one session,
so it’s easy to see that this is the same kind of blazing hardcore. Yeah,
these are simply fast as fuck, chaotic blasts with both screaming as all hell
and deep growling vocals by a horde of frenchmen, who keep the old spirit of
hardcore alive and that’s just great to listen to. These eleven songs, which
includes „I wanna be a homosexual“ by SCREECHING WEASEL – I was never a big
fan of these wimps, so I cannot say where the original is taken from! – are
nothing than pure, classic „right-into-the-face“ hardcore like it was meant
to be played in the good old days and I’m fucking down with something like
this!! You have to own this!!! SEEIN RED “live amunition” 7” – After six 7“es, five split 7“es, one split 10“, two split LPs and two
LPs SEEIN‘ RED finally managed on their 17th. (!!) record to
release a live-7“. SEEIN‘ RED, who arose of the ashes from the now legendary
LÄRM, really sound like good old LÄRM, so here they‘re blasting out eleven
short, mostly ultrafast slashers with wonderful shouting. This record is
nothing but uncompromising, awesome commie-thrash as it‘s best. Amazing
platter, but what do expect from eleven songs on a seven inch record that
runs on 45 „revolutions per minute“? So... VOMIT FOR
BREAKFAST “s/t” 7” – Ah,
„Kotze zum Frühstück“ [that’s the
german translation of „Vomit For Breakfast“!] – I rarely heard a name of
a band that’s more cult!! VOMIT FOR BREAKFAST, who released with their two
split 7“es w/ AUTORITÄR and EMMA HO from ’99 and their „Brûles la scène –
live ep“ 7“ from ’00 three absolutely mercyless projectiles, are much more mighty
than ever before. With this record these guys fired a rocket that’s really
hard to top. On their self titled 7“ these frenchmen nearly sound like the
american power-violence highspeedblaster from HELLNATION, the only difference
is that VOMIT FOR BREAKFAST are not just operating with that high-pitched,
hysterical, screeching vocals – they also included a deep growler. Like I
said, musicwise these twentytwo choppers are just a HELLNATION-like blasts at
the speed of light and that’s something I can live with damn good. This
single definitely is a present from one of the gods you are now preaching to,
