Interviewing Jaya Prakash

On the 4^th of April 2000, Indera 2000 interviewed Jaya Prakash who did the school proud by scoring A1's in all nine subjects taken for the science stream in the SPM 1999 examination.

Indera: Congratulations, Jaya, on your success in the SPM examinations.

Prakash: Thank you.

Indera: Now, Jaya, as all of us would like to know, what is the secret of your success?

Prakash: Actually, there's no secret recipe to my success. The impotant thing is to study consistently with proper time management. I also make sure I get sufficient sleep so that I can have full concentration in class.

Indera: Science subjects are known to be very difficult. How did you manage to score perfectly?

Prakash: Science subjects are not that difficult as long as you can understand the main concepts. It's important to pay attention in class and do lots of revision before and after a lesson.

Indera: In your opinion, are tuition classes effective?

Prakash: Yes, I take tuition classes very seriously. I attend tuition for all the main subjects so that i can get clearer understanding on more difficult topics. Besides tuition classes, my friends and I also formed a study group to discuss our lessons.

Indera: What are your plans for the future?

Prakash: I plan to continue with Form 6 and take engineering in a local university.

Indera: Thank you for spending some of your time with us. Is there anything you would like to add?

Prakash: I would like to take this opportunity to thank my parents and teachers for their guidance and support. To those who are sitting for SPM, remember that 99% is perspiration, 1% is inspiration.
