Hey,
I have been meaning to write you for some time now. Phuzz (Madeline) is doing great. I have since finished school and moved back home near Chicago. (I renamed Madeline to Phuzz, and she is fine with it. Madeline seemed a bit, oh, feminine sounding for a single guy to name his cat.
Nevertheless, she is thriving and seems very happy. She has adjusted quickly to her subsequent new homes. She has also grown more affectionate with time. When I first got her, she never got on the bed, and rarely sat on my lap. Now she often sleeps at the end of the bed, and she likes to be where I am.
Another pleasent surprise, despite your warnings, she has never attempted to jump up on counters or tear into bread packages. Perhaps that was all about competition with other foster cats in the home. As the only cat, she is happy and well behaved.
She travels well too. Florida to Chicago is a LOOOONNGG drive, but she was fine. She protests and cries for the first 10-15 minutes, but then she quiets and calms down, and is fine the rest of the way. As long as she can see me and I talk to her and touch her, she is fine.
I am very happy with Phuzz, she has become a great pet.
