The Guide of the National Monitoring Network for the Application of the Bern Convention in Romania
Since December 1996, SILVA The Forestry Students Organisation (OSS SILVA) is the coordinator of The National Monitoring Network for The Application of The Bern Convention in Romania, a member of The National Monitoring Network for the Application of Environmental International Conventions (SACIM). Before any action in this field could start, a guide of action is necessary. As the coordinator of the network, OSS SILVA was responsible for the publication of this guide, but that was possible only in June 1998, because of financial difficulties.
Only one Romanian version was published in June 1998, under ISBN 973-9240-84-4, and was freely distributed to the members of the network and other people committed to achieve the purpose of this network. Unfortunately, the circulation was very small, only 80 samples being available for distribution.
In order to make this guide available as widely as possible, an electronic version of the guide (in .pdf format) was posted on our web site. This electronic version is identical in content and format with the printed version, except for the details related to printing services (ISBN, publisher's identity). We encourage the printing and free distribution of this guide, in both electronic and printed formats, to allow as many interested people and organisations as possible to benefit from the information provided, which we consider to be of great importance for the good functioning of the network. However, we do not agree with its distribution for any commercial purpose, and we request that the source (this website) and the author (OSS SILVA) be mentioned when distribution is made in either electronic or printed format.
Since this guide is especially dedicated to Romanian organisations and specialists, we consider that the full English version of the guide is not strictly necessary, thus only the introduction is available in English. In addition, you can get acquainted with the people who contributed to this guide.
However, if you consider it of any utility, you can download and work with the Romanian version available. All the nine component files are presented in the table below:
