Information on a three (3) hour lesson with Pro Roger Cravens: Are you convinced that there is not any fish in Beaver Lake? Have you been frustrated after you come back from a hard day's fishing without anything to show for it? Let me help you find and catch more fish! I am now offering lessons for all levels of fisherman including the novice(beginner)angler, the weekend angler or the aspiring tournament angler. I specialize in crappie fishing but can also teach bass fishing upon request.
Details: Lessons are structured as a teach and learn as opposed to catching quantites of fish. The thought process of these lessons are more directed on helping you learn to catch more fish in future outings, like a seminar on the water! If you wish to catch supper, you may need to book a guided trip instead. I will provide tackle, rod/reel, bait and boat much like I do on a guide trip, however we will concentrate more on locating and learning correct presentations, depth, seasonal patterns of the fish you desire to catch. We will begin the lesson as if it was the first time spent on the lake to help to learn how to put a pattern together, which consists of what tackle to begin with, weather conditions, structure to begin fishing first, depth to fish and color choice for jigs or if minnows will be more suited for the day.
Times and cost: I will offer lessons on Saturdays and also on Sunday afternoons November through March and June through August. I will charge a flat fee of $175 for three hours which includes one or two people. Cleaning of fish is not included for lessons, catch and release only unless you wish to take them home. These lessons can be booked just like a guide trip by either emailing, calling or texting me. If you would like to use your own tackle and/or boat, that can also be accommodated.
